In high-pressure situations, Samantha stays focused on her role and visualizes the outcome she wants. “Be calm, visualize your goal,” she said.

She’s been working on her decision-making under pressure, specifically learning to identify the right hitter to set in tight situations. Samantha is known by teammates as supportive and uplifting, always working to keep the team’s energy high. “I bring a sense of humor and try to make sure everyone’s energy is high,” she said.

Please officially welcome Miss Capinpin to the State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 66^th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays volleyball for Mater Dei High School and also plays at the Forza1 volleyball club.  Sam uses her jump set with every set location and that is one reason why her hitters can beat the block more efficiently.  By jumping before her set, the blockers must wait just a bit longer to see if she is going to dump the ball or set a quick to her middles.  Every time I have watched her compete with her awesome club team, she has been pinpoint accurate in her delivery and that allows her hitters to always be on time with their attacks.  When you study her set distribution, you will see that she has a very high volleyball IQ and knows exactly where to send the ball in order to score or have a high probability of it.  Despite her smaller frame, she is strong enough to find the pins from any location, especially when out of system.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.
