We had some amazing players from all over the state sign up to show their skills. Many players stood out to our court coaches and scouts throughout the entire expo for a variety of reasons. Some players stood out for their dynamic physical skills and some stood out for intangibles like leadership, effort and attitude. I was scouting from the live stream on BallerTV and also have been watching the replay over and over to evaluate. There were some awesome players. Let’s meet a few of the players who earned the honor of Top Performer at the Expo.
Avery Koonsen Avery Koonsen 5'11" | OH Pearland | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-11 Outside (HS: Pearland/Club: Houston Stellar/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Avery is currently ranked as the 77th best overall prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Pearland High School and also club for the Houston Stellar volleyball program. Miss Koonsen is very well known by us at Prep Dig and we were very excited to have her at the Expo this past weekend. She is a total all-around six rotation outside hitter who can do it all on the court. I was able to watch on BallerTV and Avery stole the show for me. Her skills stood out on the live-stream and also while I have been scouting via the replay. Her right arm is golden and has a very distinct speed to it on the down swing. Her approach is taken with super confident steps that can fool you into thinking she will swing at the same speed, but then her arm explodes into a ridiculously fast down swing that unleashes power into the ball. This young lady is a point just waiting to happen on any team she play on. What also stood out to me was her pinpoint accurate serve receive that allowed her court setters to run good offense. Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer award for this showcase.
Brooke Gottsman Brooke Gottsman 5'4" | S The Woodlands | 2026 TX [2026] 5-5 Setter (HS: The Woodlands/Club: Woodlands Revolution/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Brooke is an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but turned my head a few times when I watched her on the live stream during the Expo. She plays at The Woodlands High School and also plays for the Woodlands Revolution volleyball club program. Miss Gottsman is a ball of fire on the court in the setter position who has impeccable technique dishing the rock. I loved how quickly the ball came out of her hands while setting. As a setter, I really look to see if hands look like mirror images of each other during contact of the ball and that is exactly what Brooke had. Despite being a little smaller as a setter, she creates a lot of momentum on the ball as it rockets toward her hitters, especially during out of system plays. I also loved her footwork as it looked really fast and got her into perfect position with great posture to deliver to her attackers. We are very proud to award her for her play during the Expo. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award.
Harper Green Harper Green 5'9" | OH AC Jones Beeville | 2026 TX [2026] 5-10 Outside (HS: Jones/Club: Corpus Christi Force/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Harper is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but she definitely put on an awesome show at the Expo and showed me that I need to take a hard look at her for our rankings. She plays at Jones High School and also for the Corpus Christi Force club program. Miss Green was a stellar attacker who scored at-will against everyone that was put in front of her as an opponent. This young lady can score with the best of them Her shot selection truly stood out to me as I watched on the live stream. Harper was able to swing hard down the line, send balls to deep corners, hit hard through the seam of the block and also add in some off-speed shots when necessary. What I really loved was how she was able to send over aggressive attacks during out of system plays. This aggressiveness will help her team stay in super competitive mode at all times. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award from our showcase.
