After hosting events in San Antonio and Dallas, the Top 250 Expo came to Houston and the Competitive Edge Sports facility, the home of famed club TAV Houston , was the location where around 80 prospects from several regions in the state, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, reunited for a fun morning.
Prep Dig Scouting Director Michael DeLeon and I were in attendance, taking a good look at everyone on the court, and will share our findings over the next few days. I’ll start by listing the setters that stood out to my eyes:
Rosenblatt stood out from the very first setting drills of the event. She moved really well on the court and always got to the ball in good shape – and I loved that she always willing to make an extra effort to jumpset every ball. The setter displayed good touch on the ball and was able to repeatedly hit the same location during the activity, using her body very well to get some extra power when out of system. Rosenblatt kept her good form during the match-like drills, trying to play fast when she could and running the team well.
Highlights
Hadley Meadors
Hadley Meadors
Meadors’ hands were among the very best in our group of setters on Sunday. She’s very technical and makes contact with the ball in a very clean and smooth way and was spot-on with her locations. Meadors also impressed with her ability to make the exact same technical gesture when setting to different positions, adding an extra layer of difficulty to blockers across the net – and that showed in the match-like drills. She also did a very good job playing defense.
Amelie Cross
Amelie Cross
Cross got some playing time in a strong Fulshear team that made it to the State Tournament in the last high school season and that speaks a lot abour her game. On Sunday, she made a really good impression with her solid and consistent production as she kept her level of play steady during the entire event. She plays with a lot of enthusiasm and was great at interacting and cheering on the other players during every drill. Cross is very strong with her accuracy and I was really impressed with how quickly and effectively she was able to connect with different hitters during the morning.
King and her excellent all-around game once again made of her one of the standouts in our event. I don’t think there was a single skill that she didn’t do well on Sunday as she split her time at the Top 250 Expo between setter and hitter duties. Her playmaking ability was always on point as the setter displayed great ability to connect with her hitters and made good decisions with her ball distribution. When working as a hitter, she did well at the net and also with her passing.

Perry was one of the standouts in our event in San Antonio two weeks ago and left a strong impression again on Sunday in Houston. Very technical and precise, she’s really good at getting the ball to the pins regardless of where the pass takes her. She also displayed excellent body control when working with tight passes, staying away from the net as she jumped to get to the ball. Perry also did a good job on defense and was always very calm and relaxed on the court.
