Charlie Fuerbringer Charlie Fuerbringer 5'11" | S Mira Costa | 2024 State #2 Nation CA
I’m super proud and honored to be selected because it means that all my hard work has payed off. I’ve played with a lot of the other girls who are going and I love them all so I’m super excited to be apart of such an incredible. For younger girls, I would say to just really soak in every moment because time flies by so fast and before they know it they will be off to college. The community is what ultimately makes volleyball such an amazing sport, so connect and make friends with the people you meet.
Malyssa Cawa Malyssa Cawa 5'7" | DS/L Mater Dei | 2024 State CA
Being selected to play in the All American game is truly a blessing and an honor. I am so excited to play and compete among the best of the best in the nation. It’s going to be a great and inspiring experience that is somewhat a glimpse of playing at the next level. I anticipate a spirited and enthusiastic environment. I know the energy is going to be great and fun to be around. Advice I would give to younger players would be to keep working and grow your love for the sport. The hard work, dedication, and passion that you show on the court will not go unrecognized as long as you are consistent and focused!
Kennedy Osunsanmi Kennedy Osunsanmi 6'2" | MB West Ranch | 2024 State CA
Being chosen for the Under Armour All America game was a big shock. I had known about the game from past years, but I didn’t know what the selection process was like. When my name was called I felt a mixture of excitement and disbelief as it was such an honor to be chosen to play with some of the best players in my class. My advice to younger players aiming for this goal is to not be too hard on themselves or others. Volleyball is not just about physical abilities but also about mental toughness and teamwork. Enjoy the journey, learn from experiences, and remember that progress takes time.

When I received the email, I was on my way to the state finals game. I remember being tired and about to close my eyes. I never have my ringer on, ever, but randomly I had it on today. I was dozing off on the bus when my phone buzzed. I saw it had something to do with UA Next, but I thought it was related to the camp series. I opened the email and my jaw dropped. There is no way to fully articulate the immediate feeling. I ran over to my coach who was near the front to have her read it and make sure that I was invited. Calling my mom and dad to tell them was something special, they have seen firsthand everything that I have put into this sport, so it was a cool moment to share with them. My career has not been easy and working day in and day out can be draining, but being recognized and chosen for this opportunity just makes everything worth it. I think what is most special about being chosen is that if you look down the roster, I am not the biggest hitter or committed to a top 20 school, but I earned that spot. The skills that I have spent years training speak for itself and that is what is so special.
What I am most excited about is just being surrounded by girls who have the same goals, mentality, and drive as me. These girls that have been selected with me are such incredible athletes and I am so excited to meet them, practice with them, and compete with them. Another thing I am excited about is all the activities they have planned, we don’t have the full Itinerary yet but I am positive they have some unique activities lined up for us
One big piece of advice would be to always show up and give it everything you have that day. If you only have 75 percent you give all 100 percent of that 75. Players who continue to show up through adversity are the ones who will succeed in the long run. If any young girl is reading this and dreams of playing at the next level my biggest advice to you is to embrace your why. it’ll make showing up on the hard days easier because you are showing up with a sense of purpose. Another thing I wish I knew is success is relative and personal. I have had more than a few people tell me that I didn’t fit their mold, and for a while, it made it hard for me to continue to show up, but I realized that everyone is on their own path. My success and My pathway are completely separate from others. So with that being said, No one can take away your success. It is not important what other people think, just stay on your own course and appreciate your own success.
I look forward to this UA Next Game and I am so excited to share my experience.
