Colleges will be filling roster spots late until the summer as players graduate, transfer, or decide to move on with their schooling/career without volleyball.
High-quality players in the Prep Dig 2024 rankings are still available for the right school; that is an article for a later date. These seven featured here have made their choice, and we dig into their games, current team, and accolades.
Corban will enjoy having the senior from Puyallup High School in the sand and indoors. Wilber has a big arm, has been trained by great coaches at Puyallup and NPJ, and is always working hard with positive energy on the court. Her strong hands and active defense will translate well to beach. Located in Salem, Oregon, Corban is an ascending program in the sand and on the court. The Warriors posted a record of 28-7 indoors, making a run to the NAIA National Championships.
The Mountain View senior will play at Santa Monica College next season, a 2-year school that is a 10 minute ride from the Santa Monica Beach. Gamby was a Co-MVP of the GSHL 3A League in her last year, playing both setter and the opposite position. The key to Gamby’s game is her fire, athleticism and defensive ability no matter what position she plays. The Corsairs posted a 22-8 record last season before falling in the SoCal Regional Final.
Highlights
Schneider is working as a right side with the CPA 18 Nicole team this club season after a terrific high school career with Freeman. State trophies were par for the course for the attacker, and she is honing in her right side game before joining Lewis and Clark State next fall. Schneider’s work ethic on the court stands out, she transitions hard, gets to her spot as a blocker and gets on the ground to keep points alive. Her length and athleticism are a perfect match for coach Katie (Hinrichs) Palmers system in Lewiston.
Highlights
The OH from Cedar Park Christian is part of a strong in state class for the Seattle Pacific Falcons. Greff is part of a solid SIVBC 18 Tsunami squad for her final club season, and she is dealing her heavy handed kills on a consistent basis from the pin. Working the edge of the block let’s Greff generate points off hands and down the line, a good counter to her hard angle swings.
The senior from Mt. Spokane finished high school with another big run at state, and she is heling to anchor the RVC 18 Shawn offense in club. Davis will be at Chico State next fall, the Wildcats compete in the very rugged Division II CCCA versus the likes of Cal State San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona and others. The six-rotation outside has added strength and shots, solidified her defensive game and most of all made more and more winning plays as she was called upon to be a senior leader for her Mt. Spokane team.
Hedia Lewis Hedia Lewis 5’10” | OH Bush | 2024 State WA will take her exciting game to South Carolina State University next fall. The outside hitter plays for NPJ, and had a very successful high school career for the Bush School. SC State competes in the Division 1 MEAC and is located in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Lewis is 5’10”, athletic and has continued to get better as a complete player every year. Her ability to get up and terminate on the pin is a big part of her game, Lewis is a agile defender and extremely tough minded competitor as well.
Highlights
Northwest University will be Koetje’s program and school after she finishes up at Lynden. A six-rotation outside with impeccable ball control and a non-stop motor, Koetje will be a difference maker in her time in the Cascade Conference, she is 5’8″ and has a good vertical that allows her to score around and off the block. Her passing and defense are her calling cards, and every program values that type of strong skill set.
