I scouted three matches on Saturday in the 17U Division.
One of the teams I enjoyed watching was the Pratt Impact 17-1 who won a two-set match over Reflections 17-1.
Ryann Eastes, 5’7”, OH/S, Pratt, ’25
Eastes plays with poise and grit. If she played on a club team in the Kansas City area she would be getting much more notice. The Pratt Greenbacks’ prospect can play six rotations and is dangerous as a setter and a hitter. In the two-set victory over the club team from Wichita, she finished with seven kills, five digs, and three aces. She has an accurate serve and likes to hit the ball thumb-down. Eastes is quick and there I no doubt in my mind she should get a shot to play collegiate volleyball.
Sadie White, 5’11”, MH, Cimarron, ’25
White has a big reach and can jump. She has no idea how good she could be at the net. She finished with three kills and two blocks in the Impact’s win. She needs to add some upper-body strength and get her name out to coaches if she wants to play college ball. White is a player opponents can not afford to overpass on or they are likely to eat a Tachikara sandwich. She could help an NAIA program.
Konli Sterling, 5’9”, RS/OH, Pratt, ’25
What impressed me the most about Sterling is she has a heavy serve that defenders had a difficult time dealing with. She is another prospect who hits the ball hard but might know just how good she could be. Sterling finished with three digs, two serve receptions, one kill, and one ace. She plays with poise and communicates well on the court.
Kory Anschutz, 5’5”, S, Skyline, ’25
Anshutz plays high school ball for the Skyline Thunderbirds. She can jump out of the gym and has a nice touch with her sets. I was surprised at how hard she hit the ball when she attacked. Anschutz collected three kills and two aces. She has a hard serve that dives near the end. It was one of the top serves from the five club teams I watched play.
