This Maize outside hitter showed a ton of skill and range at that event, and her growth accelerated in Year 1 with the Eagles. She led the team with over three kills per set in her debut season and exhibited her incredible range against 6A's best. Baty already has an uncanny ability to tool off hands and has paired that with a wicked roll shot into the campfire. Opposing defenders also have to be ready for Baty's quick, snappy turns down the line. Her tremendous ceiling could shake up the 6A hierarchy for a while.

We couldn't help but double down on the Class 6A stars. The short, exclusive list of starting freshman setters at Kansas' varsity level wouldn't be complete without Cisneros. She piloted the Blue Valley offense throughout the fall, logging about nine assists per set en route to a postseason appearance. Cisneros' true value was revealed when we got an in-person look at her distribution at the 6A tournament. She dished out the kind of consistent balls her pin hitters could terminate, especially in out-of-system situations. Cisneros would also force the middles to keep defenses off-balance. That's how you get immediate playing time in the KC-area prep scene.

She's done it again. We've covered Dorsey's journey with St. James Academy this year, focusing on her terminal ability and her ball-control skills. Her multi-phase influence was best demonstrated in a pool match against Kapaun Mt. Carmel, where Dorsey scored on all four of her swings and tallied four digs per set, too. We're astounded by the volume of Kansas pin hitters who can score from either side and deliver stellar first contacts. Dorsey carries that banner for the freshman class, and her rise is just getting started.

This one's easy. Few Kansas freshmen posted the kind of numbers we saw from Redmond, who finished the year with nearly 400 total kills. She only needed two sets to register double-digit kills in pool matches against McPherson and Clay Center. However, Redmond was at her best in a 19-kill flurry to down Paola in a three-set thriller. That set the stage for Bishop Miege's remarkable run to the Class 4A title, and we can't wait to see what's next for Redmond on the club side. Her six-rotation impact is something to behold.

Here's a clear addition to our Class of 2030 watch list. Seidl mastered the high-hands shot on the outside, adding over two kills per set to the Silver Lake offense. The Eagles leaned on their freshman throughout the trip to Hutchinson, and Seidl proved herself an ideal fit for the L1 position. She could overpower well-formed blocks or find the deep corner with a well-placed tip shot. Silver Lake's recent postseason success could continue as underclassmen find their groove.

Let's check back in with Inman's southpaw attacker. Schnable was a clear choice for our 2030 watch list after her quick start with Inman, and the momentum hasn't slowed since. This physical freshman presents tough matchups for opposing blockers with her sharp lefty swing. Schnable finds space between the block and the antenna, but she can also hammer into the low seam if given the opportunity. Her steady contributions in a pool showdown with Moundridge revealed Schnable's sky-high potential for future seasons with the Teutons.

The freshmen delivered one final act.

We've had quite a journey with the Class of 2030 this fall. Freshmen were so influential in this year's prep season that a midseason release of our first 2030 watch list felt warranted. We've learned even more about this group since then, especially as we crowned seven new champions at the end of October.

So, while I've been embedded in state tournament coverage on the Nebraska side, I've also had an opportunity to sift through more film from last week's big conclusion.

Freshmen found ways to jump out on film during Kansas' biggest weekend. Let's start the youth movement.

We were thrilled to reunite with Baty after watching her compete at our summer showcase in Kansas City.
