Moving through the age groups quickly, there is a VERY real possibility of this tournament handing out THREE bids this weekend because of the sheer number of teams entered. With the top three finishers potentially earning either a National (1st), American (2nd) or Freedom (3rd) bid, here are three teams with two athletes each that can make their dream come true.

Finishing a respectable fifth at the President's Day tourney in Saint Louis is an improvement from what they did in Indy at Central Zone's just a few short weeks ago. This team has the potential to win regionals this weekend, so they might lean on outside attackers [player_tooltip player_id='221478' first='Josie' last='Imes'] ('26, 5-10 OH, Zionsville) and [player_tooltip player_id='226810' first='Ella' last='Warrick'] ('26, 5-8 OH, Linton-Stockton). Josie hits a heavy ball and can terminate from anywhere, plus an innate ability to receive serve well. Ella is more of the high energy spitfire of the group, as you can find her reviewing video after losses and learning what needed to be improved on wins. Both can definitely be classified as "gym rats", as their happy places always seem to be within the 900 square feet.

Multi sport athletes dot this roster, starting with [player_tooltip player_id='506037' first='Addison' last='Bowen'] ('26, 5-10 S/RS, Valparaiso). Her basketball background helps her read hitters well and block them consistently, while she can play multiple positions in both sports. Small but mighty [player_tooltip player_id='506039' first='Abigail' last='Brubaker'] ('26, 5-0 DS/L, Valparaiso) has the speed to cover a ton of ground and make up for her smaller stature. She's a full-go, no-quit defender who can be used in any of the three back row positions.

Size is not an issue with this roster, and the two I list here today show it off with their super long arms. [player_tooltip player_id='366449' first='Leah' last='Kay'] ('26, 5-10 MB, Mount Vernon) might look shorter, but her long arms and exceptional reach make her a great blocker. She can also hit any attack in front of the setter, and with any angle. I see a stock riser in [player_tooltip player_id='301140' first='Adriana' last='Williams'] ('26, 5-10 Pin, Indian Creek), who comes from a not-so-volleyball-traditional high school program. She has a HUGE approach, and maximizes her jump touch with 100% effort on every swing. I like her termination from the left pin, but she can put balls away on the right pin as well as back row.
