Our most recent Class of 2027 feature addressed some attackers who have entered our coverage spotlight for the first time after Omaha’s ASICS Presidents’ Day Classic. We’re about to carry that same theme into this one, but setters are the focus here. It’s been too long since we’ve brought this all-important position to the forefront.
Let’s change that.

Bowman’s effort and steady hands helped Nebraska ONE 15 Black reach the podium in 15 Open. This savvy setter distributed well throughout the Presidents’ Day Classic and used her deceptiveness to hold opposing blockers. Bowman can effectively mix tempos to the outside, giving her left sides plenty of seams to hit through. Our Class of 2027 watch list will have Bowman’s name before long.

Nebraska Juniors is always bound to bring some up-and-coming setters into the spotlight. Christensen is one of those athletes we’ll be watching after she guided the 15 Black offense in Omaha. Aside from her precise pin-to-pin location, Christensen was also a leader in 15 Black’s floor defense who never let balls drop in the right-back area. This will be a setter to watch as teams accumulate more high-level experience in the 2024 season.
Paisley Bartek

Let’s keep rolling through some Nebraska Juniors setter talent. Bartek is the kind of setter you can comfortably plug into a 5-1 system. Her length presents a formidable block on 15 Red’s right pin, which produces positive block touches for the team’s transition offense. Don’t forget about Bartek’s willingness to attack the ball herself. It’s a full array of skills that has Bartek climbing the 2027 hierarchy.
Kolbee Kroemer Kolbee Kroemer 5'6" | S Waverly | 2027 NE

Kroemer fits the mold of so many other successful VCNebraska setters. Her tremendous footspeed allows her to track down errant passes and still overhand set to 15 Black’s hitters. On in-system plays, Kroemer is a difficult setter to read and will generate a lot of one-on-one opportunities. The ASICS Presidents’ Day Classic was our wake-up call on Kroemer’s potential as a leading signal-caller.

We had to get Club Legacy in the conversation after 15 Alpha’s third-place finish in 15 Club. Moulton ran the show for much of this podium triumph and was a stabilizing force throughout. Her location never wavered, even if Moulton needed to make the best of a scramble situation. Bettering the ball is the primary objective for any setter, and 15 Alpha’s leader embraced that task.
Madelyn Stukenholtz

We’re seeing a two-player machine emerge at Premier 15 Red’s setter spot. Stukenholtz seized the moment in Omaha after fellow setter Drew Schnabel Drew Schnabel 5’5″ | S Papillion-La Vista | 2027 NE was featured during 15 Red’s NLQ journey. Stukenholtz was not afraid to take risks and make tricky sets at the Presidents’ Day Classic. That mindset has now brought 15 Red to the top of the pack in two major tournaments. We may be due for a repeat performance in the coming weeks.

River City Jrs is compiling some talent in the younger age groups. Guenther showcased her grasp of the setter spot and got all of 15 Navy’s hitters involved at the Presidents’ Day Classic. Her impact was not limited to distribution, either, as Guenther was among 15 Navy’s toughest servers throughout the weekend. This should be the launching point to Guenther’s emergence in our 2027 database.
