Going on from Saturday to Monday, the event is a huge one, featuring 12 divisions and hundreds of teams, which will all do their best to earn the bid for the National Championship.
Texas will have massive representation in the tournament, with as many as 113 teams from the Lone Star State making the trip to Florida to compete in this weekend’s event. As we prepare for intense competition, let’s take a look at some promising setter prospects that will be on the court this weekend.
This time we’ll feature some talented outside hitters:
Rileigh Simon
Rileigh Simon
Simon will be one of the key players in the Renegades 16 Adidas team that will play in the 16 American division. Despite not being very tall, she’s among the team’s main offensive options and gets the job done at the pin. Simon gets off the floor very well and is excellent with her shot selection, finding ways to beat the block and put the ball down. The outside hitter is extremely mobile on the court and also makes an impact with her blocking because of her hangtime. A very technical player, Simon also passes at a very high level.
A new face with The Woodlands Skyline 16 Royal this season, Hyde will help her team in the 16 USA division. A very physical player, she makes great use of her athletic tools at the net to be an impact player on the court. Hyde has transitioned from the middle to outside hitter extremely well, but still has a lot of room for improvement and considering her progress, will reach a very high level. She’s very strong offensively, making contact with the ball at a very high point and hitting it hard. Hyde is a power player, but knows when to mix things up and often catches opponents off guard with tips and roll shots.

Hall and her team Alamo 16 Premier will battle in the competitive 16 Open division this weekend in Florida. She can also play on the right, but has been more frequently used on the left this season, providing tremendous firepower to her team at the pin. Very strong and physical, she’s hard to stop for blockers and defenders because of how explosive she is. Another thing that makes of Hall a very efficient offensive player is her ability to hit from the left, the right and even the middle, which allows her setters to move her around and create confusion across the net.

Johnson will be one of the weapons of Madfrog 17’s N Green to succeed in the 17 Open division. A player with a very complete and well-rounded game, she’s one of those outside hitters who make their teams better with their ability to contribute on both sides of the ball. Johnson is extremely technical and that shows with her ball control, especially when she’s passing. She’s also pretty effective offensively, playing very explosively at the net and hitting each of her numerous shots with precision and awareness. The outside hitter is also extremely reliable and works as sort of a stabilizer when the team goes through difficult moments.

A new player with Drive Nation 17 – Black, Guevara will be with the team when they compete in the 17 USA division in Orlando. She plays with great energy and her attitude on the court positively impacts her teammates. A very technical and consistent player, Guevara has a very important role when it comes to keeping the team’s stability with her reliable passing. She’s also a threat at the net as, although not extremely tall, she’s very explosive and can hit virtually every shot, being able to send the ball anywhere on the court with her well-trained wrist.
