It was held in Kansas City, MO on February 17-19th. Three days of immensely competitive volleyball taking place with teams from all over the country. Let’s take a look at players who really turned my head with their play.
Reina Jones Reina Jones 6'0" | S Sterling | 2027 State TX [2027] 5-11 Setter/Right Side (HS: Sterling/Club: Absolute Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Reina is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because they have not been released yet. She plays volleyball for Sterling High School and also plays club for the Absolute Volleyball Academy of Texas volleyball program. I was very intrigued to watch her team play at the Triple Crown tourney because they always have some solid athletes with great coaching. When I saw her perform, I knew that she was special. She has a lot of length in her frame but when you add the extra length in her arms, you have a recipe for what will attract a lot of attention from college scouts. This prototypical size as a setter is something that every young setter wishes for. I was thoroughly impressed with her mechanics at this young age as she moved well around the court tracking down the ball with precise footwork. Her long arms allowed her to push the ball quite easily all the way to the pins from any location. What makes her an even scarier opponent is that she is a lefty who can swing like a top tier attacker also. I will be keeping my eye on this youngster very closely and you should also. Please help us congratulate her on being named a Top Performer at Triple Crown.
Simone Heard Simone Heard 5'10" | MB Plano East | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-11 Right Side (HS: Plano East/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Simone is currently ranked as the 87th best overall prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is making a huge case to be moved up in our next update with how she has been playing as of late. She plays volleyball for Plano East High School and also plays club for the Dallas Skyline volleyball program. Miss Heard is very well known by Prep Dig as she has been dominating for the past few years on the volleyball court. This tournament was no exception as she lit up the stat book when I watched. I love how she gets up off of the ground fast and so effortlessly with an awesome and very bouncy approach. What makes her special is how easily she adjusts to the flight of the set in order to time it perfectly with a strong and aggressive swing. Because her vertical and hang time are so good, her offensive arsenal is also equipped with the ability to use off-speed shots and tips to the areas of the court that are wide open from the defense. I saw her use some great court vision to see those open spots and attack. Her performance was awesome to watch because she played both pins and was able to score for her team from either side. Skyline also utilized her athleticism by bringing her around for a second tempo attack out of the middle at times which was effective. Please help us congratulate her on being a Top Performer at Triple Crown.
Peyton Dickson [2025] 5-11 Setter/Right Side (HS: Decatur/Club: Muscle/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Peyton is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball for Decatur High School and also plays club for the Muscle volleyball program. Miss Dickson is a very strong player who excels on the volleyball court in many different facets. She is able to hit, set, and play defense at a very high level. This kind of versatility is why I am so high on her after what I witnessed. We talk about speed a lot when it comes to volleyball players, but I really like how Peyton moves to the ball as a setter. She doesn’t take unnecessary footsteps to the path of the ball, which is key for any setter at a high level. There were times when it didn’t look like she would be able to track down an errant pass, but sure enough she got their with enough time to get her hands on the ball. Having seen her highlight reels before on social media and through other sites, I love how she is super determined to get her hands on the ball to set even if the ball is extremely low to the ground. She is known to slide on her knees and still use her hands which makes volleyball purists like myself very happy to see. There is not a skill on the volleyball court that she cannot perform at a solid level so I think she deserves some looks from college coaches who are in need of a lefty and very versatile player who can help their roster now. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for the Triple Crown NIT.
