The University of Kentucky is getting a good one. Ward constantly moves her feet anticipating where balls are going. This allows her to make strong passes to the setters in the front row. Even does a good job picking up serves that carom off nets. Ward adds nice, strong serving to her game. She had aces near the right line during the Bluegrass Tournament.
Highlights
Davis does an incredible job using her athleticism to move side to side to line her body up with balls to make good passes. Davis is really solid at serve reception. The setters can rely on her to start a good offensive rhythm. She has a hard serve to the back line and sideline making it hard for defenders to ready. The James Madison commit is also not afraid to pound balls when needed making her a solid all-around player. Davis primarily plays defensive specialist for KIVA 17 Red. Davis helped Oldham County to a 24-13 record last year and an 8th Region championship recording 456 kills, 378 digs and 82 aces.
Green consistently encouraged teammates throughout the match no matter what happened. She gives a tremendous effort going for balls every play. Green makes good passes to set up hitters when needed and has a good jump serve. Green led Mercy to a 6th Region championship and state semifinal appearance leading the Jaguars with 785 digs and 63 aces this past fall.
Highlights
Balls may appear to be hitting the ground before Sipe digs it up at the very last second laying out her body to do that and make exceptional passes. That’s a big reason Sipe is receiving interest from colleges. Sipe consistently moves all over the court tracking down the balls. She goes up near the net and keeps blocked balls alive and constantly encourages her teammates after both good and bad plays.
Highlights
Jacquay throws defenses off with a number of sets. She has nice quick sets to the middle, pins and a solid back set. Those include cross sets. Jacquay has excellent arc on her sets. If defenses are not paying attention, Jacquay can throw them off with the setter dump.
Fuller may not have a college offer yet, but they are bound to come because the First Team Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association All-Stater is a tremendous all-around player. She mainly sets for her club team, but has shown the ability to play a number of positions with her versatility. She slides into good position on her sets helping hitters put balls down. She can set a quick one and do back sets including backwards setter dump. She runs all over the court anticipating balls not afraid to dive on the ground. Fuller is also a solid blocker sliding her feet well and timing opposing hitters. Fuller smacks down free balls hard. Fuller helped Assumption to a 36-5 record and state championship with 1,249 assists and 276 digs.
