Our positional breakdowns continue with our look at athletes attacking from either the left or right pins. Each of these five have their own attributes that make them unique, and each are fully prepared to take on the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='254827' first='Lydia' last='Stahley'], 6-1 OH, Roncalli, Team Indiana

Long and lean, Lydia is a high-flying outside attacker that can put balls away from anywhere with a whip for an arm. She's also quick and has fast footwork when going from pass to attack. Coming from Roncalli, you expect skill, and a lot of it. In Lydia's case, collegiate-level size is there as well, and she's been in enough high-leverage matches that the pressure and expectation of size and skill is not an issue.

[player_tooltip player_id='226809' first='MaryKate' last='Scheumann'], 5-10 OH, Bellmont, [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

Forced to move to setting in the 3A state title match due to injury, all this young lady did was mess around and get a triple double. Although the result wasn't what the Braves were looking for, they must be pleased with what their future looks like. In normal circumstances, MaryKate is a kid that should never come out for any reason, as her six-rotation passing skills are more than needed at the next level. Add to it her quick feet, springy jump and terminal attack, and you have the whole package willing to do what it takes to win.

[player_tooltip player_id='217453' first='Rose' last='Mahin'], 5-9 OH, Franklin Community, Rev

All of these athletes listed today are jumping at or very near ten feet for their attack touch, including Miss Mahin. When you look at Rose, she's a "nice" athlete. However, get her a ball to swing at, and it just sounds different coming off of her hand. This heavy-hitting beast will take your face off if you let her, and her relentless nature and athletic attitude only add to her skill set. She's also a pass-to-attack athlete making her indispensable for next-level recruiting.

[player_tooltip player_id='301139' first='Macie' last='Smith'], 6-0 OH, Hamilton Heights, Academy

Already jumping past ten feet, Macie is a long and lean athlete that makes a lot of blocks she goes against obsolete. Full disclosure: I worked REALLY hard to be a mediocre volleyball player. I'm jealous of Macie because of how easy she makes it look. Smooth in transition and graceful through the air, Miss Smith has college-ready written all over her.

[player_tooltip player_id='221342' first='Lily' last='Jones'], 6-2 RS, Roncalli, Circle City

Playing up on 17-2 at Circle, Lily can play either pin with ease. I've only seen her play right side live, so we'll stick with that. This transfer from Center Grove is big and physical on the right, is hard to hit against when she's blocking, and can terminate on any angle. She's also regularly playing in high-leverage matches in both high school and club. For me, you can have all of the physical skills, but if you're actually applying them in a real-world context, you're that much better of a player to my eyes.
