Isabelle Brown Isabelle Brown 5'9" | S Avon | 2025 State #101 Nation IN , 5-9, Avon, Circle City
Relentless in her pursuit and her work ethic, Miss Brown has been used to running the show for quite some time now. Athleticism and speed are her calling cards, and she uses both to (1) get to every errant pass, and (2) be aggressive as needed. I’m surprised she’s still available at this point, but you’ll get high volleyball IQ, a high motor and a continuous sense of urgency in her play. Her location is spot on, and almost seems individualized for each hitter.
Kyla Coolman Kyla Coolman 5'10" | S Penn | 2025 State IN , 5-10, Penn, NIVA
Strong hands and strong legs allow Kyla to be Kyla. Her appearance at one of our showcases put her on the map for me, and her continued success at both Penn and NIVA prove that she’s used to the pressure of both winning and winning at the highest levels. I like the tempo of her sets, her ability to get to errant passes and make them immediately hittable, and her defense as a setter. You could do FAR worse than Miss Coolman in the class of ’25 if you need a setter.
Aysa Thomas Aysa Thomas 5'10" | S Brownsburg | 2025 State IN , 5-10 Brownsburg, Academy
It seems that every week, I’m talking about another freakish athlete that plays volleyball for Brownsburg. Aysa is no different, other than the volleyball acuity that runs in her blood (older sister Quinci plays for Xavier). Serious about her craft and probably the quickest on this list, she takes command of the offense from 0-0 and never lets up her tempo. This is surprising to me because the majority of the footage I’ve seen of her is her ability to keep the same tempo and the same height of every set regardless of where the pass was sent. That’s an extra level of teaching college coaches won’t have to do once August of ’25 comes around.
Carly Fonda Carly Fonda 5'10" | S Floyd Central | 2025 State IN , 5-10, Floyd Central, KIVA
Going across the Ohio River to play club ball is tough to do. KIVA trains the best of the best when it comes to ball control and setters, and Carly clearly has earned her spot. Despite her teams’ consistently tight passes, she not only gets to the ball with her solid footwork, but makes an excellent set, in tempo, for all of her hitters. She’s also playing a very high level of tournaments this spring, which for me is the biggest testament to her college readiness for the fall of ’25.
Isabelle Jackson Isabelle Jackson 5'9" | S Westfield | 2025 State IN , 5-10, Westfield, Boiler Juniors
Strong and aggressive, Miss Jackson is highly deceptive when she goes “on two”, taking the pressure off of her fellow teammates. I’d argue that she runs a 5.5-1 offense, as she can average one to two kills per set on her own. She’s also fully invested into running a faster-than-average offense, and adjusts her set tempo and height depending on where the ball is passed. Her strong legs and consistent hands do the rest of the work, and creates lanes for her hitters to hit in with those hands.
