Continue ReadingThe Class of 2025 is in the heart of their recruiting. A lot of these athletes will be communicating with schools, scheduling visits, and continue their journey of finding their future home. The 17 USA Division will have a large contingent of available 2025s from across the country. These are some of the athletes I have seen with a live eye and know they can contribute at the next level. This is your 17 USA Recruiting Study Guide.
Kameron Blizniak – 1st Alliance 17 Silver
Setter
I’ve seen Blizniak play since her 15s year. I’m sure she has plenty of college knocking on her door and could be close to committing. The 1st Alliance 17 Silver team is pretty legit. They are the number four seed overall and will definitely be in the hunt for a MEQ 17 USA title. Blizniak is so well trained where it all starts with her footwork which leads to high IQ decisions to get all of her attackers involved. She has won on every team she has played on and will know what it takes to compete at a high level.
Abigail Kaminski – Boiler Juniors 17 Gold
Outside Hitter
Kamisnki is so solid from the outside. She has great footwork where she can transition and is always fast to the ball where she can take it at any angle. I was able to see her live at Central Zone and will be fun to see the progress of this team since the beginning of February. Kaminski is really solid in being able to run a fast tempo, hitting the ball square, creating chaos on her swing.
Elena Chappell – Circle City 17 Black
Middle Blocker
So strong! And so smart. Chappell is the middle blocker for Circle City 17 Black where she is extremely athletic and physical. She also has listed on her recruiting information that she is carrying a 4.7 GPA. Chappell along with Alexa Green were All Tournament picks from the St. Louis Presidents Day tournament. This age group has always been strong for Circle City and you can expect them to play big when the tournament is in their backyard.
Braylin Bosetski – FC Elite 17 White
Libero
Bosetski just glides on the court. She moves extremely well and is so smooth with how she can anticipate and pass with such a quiet platform. In serve receive, she is automatic where she will find a way to get a two or three point pass to her setter. She is also really smart in chaotic situations where she knows how to better the ball. FC Elite 17 White was able to grab a bid to nationals the Badger Region Qualifier to kick off March and has plenty of solid 2025 prospects on their team.
Ella Diercks – HP Illinois 17 National
Outside Hitter
This HP Illinois 17 National team has a lot of really great athletes. They come from the Illinois side of St. Louis where a few of these players have seen great team success at Breese Mater Dei where they were the Illinois Class 2A state champions. Diercks was a member of this team. She is a 6’0 outside hitter that can take what the defense gives her where she can score going down the line or hard cross. Another prospect that could have an exciting future is Alyssa Koerkenmeier who is a 6’6 middle blocker who is also a standout basketball player.
Ellie Schubert – Iowa Select 17 Mizuno
Setter
One of the top setters available in the Iowa Class of 2025, Schubert has had her share of team success at the high school level where she preps for Davenport Assumption. She was part of a state championship team in 2022 and was in the final four in 2023. Over her career she has piled on the stats where she is one of the top assist leaders in Iowa. She plays with a high IQ and thrives in a big game situation where she just finds a way to get it done. Her older sister Ava just finished her freshman year as a right side at Tennessee Tech.
Greta Shadewald – Madtown Juniors 17 National
Setter
Shadewald is a very dynamic and physical athlete where she can run the show as a setter or can even score points swinging on the right side. At 6’0, she has the size to play at a high level with her length and touch. On the second contact, she has the threat of being able to turn and burn to score with a big left handed swing. Her best volleyball may be ahead of her. Overall, she is so athletic that she will continue to flourish the more she plays.
Cara McLean – Michio 17 National
Setter
McLean and her Michio squad is coming off a final four finish from the Great Lakes Region Qualifier this past weekend. They will make the trip to Indy with aspirations to upgrade in 17 USA. McLean is a setter who receives that ball very high. She does a great job of remaining neutral, setting in a scramble situation, and isn’t afraid to attack on her own. She’s 6’0 and is a really big threat when it comes to the front row being able to set a quick tempo or throwing it down. She also has a really solid presence as a blocker.
Paige Boettcher – MKE Sting 17 Black
Outside Hitter
This MKE Sting 17 Black team is really starting to play some of their best volleyball of the season and has a roster full of highly talented and uncommitted 2025s. They won the St. Louis Presidents Day 17 Premier Division and finished second at the Badger Region Qualifier to grab a National bid. Boettcher was an all tournament selection in St. Louis where she is a six rotation outside hitter who is lightning in a bottle. She is extremely explosive from the pin where she has a fast twitch swing, making her tough to block. She will take what the defense gives her going line, off the hands, or sharp cross. This is a team playing with a lot of confidence right now and will be a court to watch the entire weekend.
Gaby DiMotto – MVP 17 Blue
Outside Hitter
Another Milwaukee club heading to Indianapolis. MVP 17 Blue is going to be one to watch and one of their six rotation outside hitters to watch is Gabby DiMotto. She hits a really heavy ball from the pin and can handle a high volume of swings. She is also one who can really defend out of middle back and be used as backrow attacker. If MVP can get DiMotto going along with UW-Milwaukee commit Ella Schuetz they are going to be really tough to beat.
Ella Rogers – Six Pack 17s
Setter
I was a little surprised by the seed of Six Pack out of the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area in Iowa. They are the 23rd seed heading into the event, but this team hasn’t been at full strength with various players finishing their high school basketball season. Rogers has length, she is 6’1, receives the ball high and can find her open attackers. She is accustomed to playing at a high level and being successful. She was the setter for West Des Moines Dowling this past season where they were the state runner up finishers in Iowa’s largest class.
Jorah Rutter – Top Flight 17 National
Setter
Rutter is another setter with plenty of length at 6’0 out of the Chicagoland area. She is a swiss army knife type player where she can set or swing. For her high school team, she could rack up double digit kills in a match where in club she is most likely going to be running the show. Either way, she is going to walk into a college gym and make the team better with her dynamic skill set.
Emma Crow – Wisconsin Juniors 17-1
Middle Blocker
Crow brings a very athletic skill set to the middle blocker position. She finds multiple ways to score points and help her team. Offensively she can hit all the tempos, connecting with her setter on a quick, a shoot, or can go behind and is very terminal off one foot. She works extremely hard out of transition and gets herself available to attack. Another attacker to keep an eye on from the pin is Addie Martin who will be one who can score plenty of points.
