Northeast Qualifier – Five Texas Liberos to Watch

This is what life looks like at this point of the club season and this weekend's destination for teams from around the country will be Philadelphia, where the first stage of the Northeast Qualifier will take place from Friday to Sunday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The event will feature five divisions (17 Open, 18 American, 18 Liberty, 18 Open and 18 USA) and as many as 219 teams will be in action competing for spots at the 2024 USA Volleyball Girls National Championship.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The state of Texas will be represented in each of the five divisions as 29 teams will make the trip to Pennsylvania this weekend and will take the days leading to the event to highlight some of the players from the Lone Star State that will be on the court. Besides being very technical, Schramm plays with the attitude every coach wants in a libero as she goes with everything she has in every single play and never gives up. McCreary is very good at hitting opposing hitters, which gives her the ability to make last-second adjustments in her positioning that typically get her in place to make plays. She has very good ball control and generates several transition opportunities for her team from the left back position. Bradley is very technical and uses her resources to keep the ball up in scrappy plays, at times turning to one-handed digs. Williams also plays on the sand and at times it's easy to see how that gives her a different perspective defensively and how it adds to her mobility and quickness on the court. Izzy plays with great confidence in serve-receive, covering a lot of ground and delivering accurate passes to her setter. She's also excellent at playing defense at the left back position and is incredibly precise even when she needs to dive to get to the ball.
