Along with these big time athletes from Milwaukee there were plenty of standouts throughout the weekend where teams had really strong duos. At this level, teams can’t rely on one weapon, they need multiple. Here are some duos to know from the Prep Dig Champions Cup.
Isabella Webber Isabella Webber OH Catholic Memorial | 2026 WI and Emily Frank Emily Frank 5'8" | OH Divine Savior Holy Angels | 2026 State WI – MKE Sting 16 Silver
This outside hitter combo was money for MKE Sting 16 Silver this weekend. What is most impressive about these two attackers is their fearlessness when they take a rip. Both of them had moments where they were out of system and they still went for the kill as opposed to playing things safe. That is the mentality behind this Sting 16 Silver team who took home their second Prep Dig title of 2024. This was a repeat of the Prep Dig Resolution final in January where Sting 16 Silver was also victorious over FVP 16 National. Shae Anderson Shae Anderson 5'10" | MB New Berlin Eisenhower | 2026 WI was clutch out of the middle where she was really quick with her arm swing and found a lot of openings in the defense. This is a solid team that will look for another title next at the Badger Region Championships March 23-24.
MaKaelyn Clark MaKaelyn Clark 5'8" | S Oshkosh West | 2026 State WI and Emma Tesch Emma Tesch 5'3" | S Kimberly | 2026 State WI – FVP 16 National
These two athletes were the setters for FVP 16 National enroute to a runner up finish on the weekend. Clark has been a mainstay among top players at Prep Dig Events with her ability to set and score points on the right side. She has such a great feel for the game and plays with a very high IQ. On the right side she has a really deadly cross court shot that is tough to defend. Tesch was a big time player as well for FVP. As a backrow setter, she gets her feet to the ball and can take it anywhere. What I found impressive about Tesch’s game is that she does a great job of finding the attacker who has the hot hand. These two are FVA rivals during the season with Clark prepping at Oshkosh West and Tesch attending Kimberly.
Charley Casey Charley Casey 6'0" | OH Holmen | 2026 WI and Macy Kline Macy Kline DS/L Holmen | 2026 State WI – Hometown Heat 16 Gold
These two are pretty opposite when it comes to their game. Casey is a 6’1 outside hitter where Kline is a 5’5 libero. They both prep at Holmen High School just outside of La Crosse where they have been part of a program on the rise. Many of these Hometown Heat 16s prep at Holmen. Casey has a ton of upside where a lot of her best volleyball is ahead of her. She has a high approach touch and plenty of length where she can really establish a block. Kline is up there with some of the top liberos in Wisconsin from the Class of 2026. She is efficient with her platform, is under control with movement, and makes so many of these things look really easy. Teams who serve at Kline are taking a big risk because she is so consistent in providing a three point pass to the setter.
Cassidy Pohlman Cassidy Pohlman 5'5" | DS/L Monona Grove | 2026 WI and Laila Rasmussen Laila Rasmussen 5'6" | S Mount Horeb | 2026 WI – 608 Juniors 16 Elite
These two provide a solid first two contacts for 608 Juniors 16 Elite where they were in the final four of the Champions Cup. I saw Pohlman play at the Prep Dig Top 250 last December where she was a standout libero. She followed up this past weekend with a big time performance where she was so steady in serve receive, anticipates well to pick up any tips or chaotic type plays, and finds a way to have her side of the net play another day. Laila Rasmassen is a combo player for 608 where she can set and swing from the right side. She has a nice left handed swing where she can swing big or make a variety of shots to score points. Her feel for the game is mature where she knows when to go off script and take it herself on the second contact. She is a sophomore at Mount Horeb.
