Spotlight On 2025 Ranked Middles

This report features five middle hitters ranked in the Top 50. This is not an all-inclusive list as I have already featured a few middle blockers in reports yesterday. I have also not included a couple of athletes who I plan on seeing play in person this weekend in club action in Lawrence.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='326464' first='Bria' last='Dawson']</strong>, 6'0”, MB, Olathe North</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dawson is an athletic middle who can also hit outside. She is now ranked No. 22 among her Class of 2025 peers. She finished last season with 170 kills and 34 total blocks. Her on-court attitude is infectious. One area I would like to see Dawson improve on is her overall confidence. Once she realizes she can dominate a game by adding a leading meanness to her demeanor on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='493515' first='Ashlyn' last='Blazer']</strong>, 6'0”, MB, Mill Valley</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mill Valley's Blazer knows how to rack up high block totals. She is currently ranked No. 38. &nbsp;She has back-to-back seasons of 80-plus total blocks. During her senior season she collected 203 kills. She has a nice reach and a solid vertical. Blazer also plays softball for Mill Valley.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='154040' first='Trinniti' last='Stevens']</strong>, 6'2”, MB, Bishop Miege</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Stevens is an athletic middle who also plays center for the Stags basketball squad. She is currently ranked No. 39. Stevens finished with an eye-popping block total of 114 last season in 99 sets played. She also recorded 182 kills during her junior season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='515145' first='Hayden' last='Heim']</strong>, 6'2”, MB, St. Marys</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Heim is a physical two-sport prospect who averaged 17-plus points per game during the recently concluded prep basketball season. She is currently ranked No. 44 by Prep Dig. She has collected back-to-back seasons of 200-plus kills. She could make a run at the 1,000-club with a big attacking season. She has also recorded two seasons of 80-plus total blocks. I recently featured Torrez on Prep Girls Hoops. She is tough nut to crack. She can play volleyball or basketball at the collegiate level, but I have no idea which way she is leaning yet. She has a nice swing and could be a solid net front presence for NAIA and JUCO schools.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
