2027 Rankings Closer Look: Setters

The group has a lot of star potential, with many already making an impact nationally on the club scene.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The latest rankings were comprised by the Prep Dig Rankings Team. [player_tooltip player_id='442995' first='Marlie' last='Smith']: </strong>A setter with all the tools, Smith plays like a senior and is always a step ahead of her opponents. She brings the best out of her hitters and doesn't shy away from being a leader on the floor. Smith is driven to be the best of the best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2. [player_tooltip player_id='454358' first='Lily' last='Tripi']: </strong>A 6'1 setter from Eisenhower, Tripi is hitting another gear this club season. She's got the tempo of her offense up and she's showing improvement as an offensive option as well. Her blocking and footwork around the net are very impressive.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>3. [player_tooltip player_id='442971' first='Brenna' last='Mirovsky']: </strong>Mirovsky is a setter/hitter combo that is able to play anywhere along the net and make an impact. She's quick on her feet and brings a lot of energy to the floor. She keeps her foot on the gas in terms of playing aggressive.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Others To Note</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='471313' first='Nellie' last='Alves']: </strong>The 6-foot Novi setter gives her teams a lot of options offensively. She's very court-aware and plays with a high IQ, but she also uses her length well to be an imposing presence with her blocking. Alves has a very high ceiling to become an elite-level player.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523845' first='Rylee' last='Anderson']: </strong>A 2027 setter that's able to play at the 14U level, Anderson could be another standout at the position to come out of the Grand Rapids Christian program. She's got good footwork and a smooth delivery, and is helping raise the game of her young hitters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442972' first='Brier' last='Skelton']: </strong>Brighton has been able to get elite play out of the setter position for a number of years and Skelton has been under that learning tree. She picks up on things quickly and can implement them on the floor in a high-paced situation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442969' first='Avery' last='Stepp']: </strong>A polished setter that has already played in a lot of high-pressure situations, Stepp is improving on her leadership skills and trusting in her abilities. She's got the skillset, so as she takes more command, it's going to free her up to take her game to another level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='512892' first='Brynn' last='Wilcox']: </strong>A setter/hitter combo that has already worked with some of the elite hitters in the state, Wilcox should be playing with a lot of confidence right now as High Performance 15-1 Nike is also playing at a high level. Wilcox adjusts quickly and doesn't let mistakes linger.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
