It is hard to believe that May is just around the corner, that qualifiers will start to wind down, and that preparations for nationals will ramp up. Some athletes have been huge assets on their teams and show no signs of slowing down. Here are some players on the rise!
Gaby is an all-around talented athlete. Her intangible and tangible skills complement each other perfectly. She has great court awareness and makes heads-up plays at the net and on defense. Gaby’s serve receive is simple and clean, and she is explosive in her pass to attack. What makes her so versatile is her ability to manufacture points from either pin and out of the back row.
Allison is relentless when she is on the court. At 6’3″, she is a huge presence at the net. Her speed, athleticism, and ability to read opposing setters take her talent to the next level. She puts up a nearly impenetrable block and is always engaged and ready on offense. Allison knows how to earn points and is a smart and powerful middle hitter.

Paige seems to take her game to a new level every time I see her play. She has a lightning-fast arm swing, explosive approach, and pinpoint perfect placement. She can dominate in the front and back row and is always ready to manufacture points. Paige is also an incredibly talented defender who is fast and scrappy.
Callie seems to have found her rhythm this season. She has a high contact point and a powerful swing. What sets her apart is her ability to pick shots and execute on the right side. She is also a tough blocker who gets consistently good touches on balls coming over the net.
Highlights
Kayla has excelled throughout this season, but I have a feeling her power and precision are only getting started. She has developed a seamless connection with her setters and is nearly unstoppable on offense. Kayla’s power alone is enough to be impressive, but her shot selection and low errors make her highly efficient and a force to be reckoned with at the net.
