The Junior Volleyball Association World Challenge saw a number of defensive specialists rise to the challenge at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville April 12-14.
Casey is trying to add to St. Henry’s long line of outstanding defensive specialists. Casey did a good job moving her feet on defense trying to anticipate where balls were headed, then trying to make solid passes. Casey possesses good spin on her jump serves and cheering on teammates after each point. Casey said she wants to improve at talking on the court, reading hitters and moving feet on serves. Casey had 207 digs and 40 aces helping the Crusaders to a 31-9 record with an All “A” State championship, a 34th District championship and 9th Region runner-up finish.
Pehlke showed she may be ready to contribute to the state power Sacred Heart this fall with the way she constantly dives after balls and constantly shuffles her feet trying to make crisp passes. Pehlke does a great job positioning herself to where she does not hide behind blocks. Pehlke also shows a lot of excitement after her team scores points.

Dawson is doing her part to help DuPont Manual challenge the Assumption-Sacred Heart stronghold on the 7th Region. Dawson goes hard after balls and moves her feet well trying to make solid passes. She hopes to improve her serve receive to play at a high level. Dawson finished second for the Crimsons with 184 digs and third with 46 aces leading Manual to a 25th District championship and 7th Region semifinal appearance. Dawson had 315 digs as a sophomore helping Manual to a 7th Region runner-up finish.

Tori Osborne Tori Osborne OH Thomas Nelson | 2026 KY
Osborne played a combination of hitter and defensive specialist roles for Thomas Nelson this past fall, but is playing a good bit of defensive specialist for her club team. Osborne does a great job moving her feet trying to square her arms up to balls for solid digs and consistently hustles after balls. Osborne also has a nice jump serve. She’s using club season to improve her serve receiving and out of system setting. Osborne had 151 kills, 201 digs and 57 aces for the Generals this past fall.
