The Prep Dig Gauntlet is less than a month away and I can't help but take a look at the excitement this event will bring to the Milwaukee Sting Center. The graphic of commits from the Class of 2025 speaks for itself with athletes heading to schools across all divisions across the country, with some being top programs in the country. There is a strong core of athletes heading to the Big Ten, with some heading to new Big 10 programs on the coast. Let's take a look at the Big Ten commits heading to the Prep Dig Gauntlet.

Quest is the homegrown Badger where she committed to Wisconsin last summer prior to nationals. There are some family ties to the Badgers as her mom is a former Badger volleyball player. This past year has been special for Quest where she was named Gatorade Player of the Year in Wisconsin after winning Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA) second consecutive state championship. The Sting 17 Gold has their 17 Open bid where they qualified early at the Northern Lights National Qualifier, won Triple Crown, competed at an international tournament in Italy, and finished the qualifier season finishing third at Lone Star. This group has been playing together for years and the Gauntlet will be a good test for this squad before heading to Vegas.

Olivia Durst not only plays on the same side of the net as Quest for club, but she is also part of the DSHA state championship teams. When Durst was a 15s player and into her sophomore year of high school, she was a high flying outside hitter. She has so much athleticism and physicality where at that point is was apparent she would have options. As one of the top liberos in the region, Durst will head to the Big Ten for an up and coming program with Michigan State. Her smash mouth style will fit in well with the Spartans where she has always competed with and against top competition.

Indiana has been picking up a ton of recruiting momentum where this Class of 2025 Class will be among one of the tops in the Big 10 as well as the country. Victoria Gray has been soaring up the radar for Michigan Elite 17 Mizuno. She has the blend of length, athleticism, physicality, and speed. She is extremely dynamic in her ability to block, transition, and score points. The 17 Mizuno team has been among the best in their age group for years. They have their bid to 17 Open in Vegas. Avery Freeman is one of the top liberos in Indiana and will stay in her home state. She plays with such composure and is so steady and dependable for a balanced attack from Circle City 17 Purple. This group is another one who has been among the best in their age group the past few years.

Logan Bell is heading to the new kids on the Big Ten block with Oregon. The Ducks have been among the top programs in the country and have built their success of six rotation, fast, athletic outsiders like Logan Bell. Bell is one of the best ball control outsides to be found where she is also planning on playing beach at Oregon as well. Her game has continued to evolve over the past few years where this season she seems to be jumping higher, hitter harder, and also mixing up her speed and angles on her shots. She is the type of player you want touching the ball as much as possible.

There are plenty of similarities between these two athletes where they are so explosive and know how to score points. Pitcel primarily plays out of the middle during the club season and is an outside hitter during the high school season. As a middle, the arm swing of Pitcel is just different. When the ball is in the setters hands its as if she's already scored a point. Her IQ is elite, and arm swing is a flash. Such an exciting player who is always connecting with her teammates and raising the level of play for everyone. As for Wysocki, I didn't see her play until her 16s year where I was amazed at her leaping ability. There is video of her jumping and touching a basketball rim as if touching ten feet is no big deal. She plays with a smile and has nothing but great vibes about her game. However, she is a total terminator where she can do it on the left side or right side.

The summer of 2023 was Keegan Cook's first year recruiting the live summer evaluation period and the Gopher staff cashed in on local prospects. Garr is the top libero in the Class of 2025 out of Minnesota and will stay home and play for the Gophers who have the Swenson teams on campus right now and will also bring in Carly Gilk, the top prospect out of 2025 in Minnesota. Garr is so steady and reliant as the libero for Northern Lights 17-1 who will be in the hunt in 17 Open at USAV in Vegas. With the consistent ball control of Garr for this team to run a consistent, balanced offense they are tough to stop.

Lauren Cortina will be heading West to another newbie when it comes to the Big Ten with UCLA. The libero who preps at New Trier High School in Chicagoland heads to a school whose staff has some connections back to Illinois and Chicago. Head Coach Alfee Reft was a former assistant at Illinois and current UCLA Assistant Amir Lugo-Rodriguez was an assistant at Northwestern and spent some time coaching at Adversity. Adversity 17 Adidas has a few commits ready to take on the Gauntlet where they will be a sneaky team to compete against. They have the ball control, training, and are accustomed to high level competition.
