During my Memorial Day Weekend which included grilling some meat, watching major league baseball and rewatching a couple of my favorite war movies, Capt. Conan managed to add five athletes to his Coverage Club.

This group of five includes ranked members of three different classes and each as been mentioned just once or less in the past six months.

The captain hopes everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='173373' first='Reagan' last='McGivern'], 6'3”, MB, Seaman, ‘25

McGivern is a committed athlete who has not received much coverage of late. I saw her play last prep season multiple times, but missed her during the club season. McGivern is a powerful hitting middle with a big reach. She has recorded 380 career kills and 161 total blocks. She has committed to play college ball for the Division I Villanova Wildcats. McGivern is currently ranked No. 5 overall in her class by Prep Dig Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='219740' first='Ashley' last='Barcus'], 5'10”, OH, Olathe West, ‘25

Barcus is one of the highest-ranked athletes in the class of 2025, who is still uncommitted. She finished with 223 kills in 82 sets during her junior season. She is a six-rotation athlete who recorded 475 serve receptions and 239 digs for the Owls. I saw Barcus last prep season and during the '23 club season. She is an explosive jumper and would be a solid addition to a Division II program.

[player_tooltip player_id='355648' first='Dominique' last='Schellenger'], 5'11”, RS, Trinity Academy, ‘26

Schellenger has a nice swing and produced well as a sophomore. I last saw her play early in the 2023 prep season in a couple of home matches to open the season. She collected 139 kills in 87 sets as a sophomore. She is a solid blocker who has recorded back-to-back seasons with 50-plus total blocks. She had 57 blocks as a sophomore and 59 blocks during her freshman season. She is currently ranked No. 11 overall in the class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='489756' first='Avery' last='McCorry'], 5'9”, RS, Bishop Carroll, ‘26

McCorry has not been recently featured by Prep Dig. I watched McCorry play for Collegiate in a preseason jamboree last fall. In 82 sets she racked up 244 kills for the Golden Eagles. She can do most everything on the court and added 192 assists, 250 serve receptions, 130 digs, and 36 aces to her bulky sophomore stat line. The Bishop Carroll prospect is currently ranked No. 14 overall in the class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='483905' first='Raimee' last='Lipker'], 5'10”, OH, Clay Center, ‘27

Lipker was a kill machine as a freshman and a player I hope I can manage to see this summer or during the prep season. She finished with 248 kills in 89 sets for the Tigers. She can play six rotations as evidenced by her freshman season stats of 343 serve receptions, 277 digs, and 31 total blocks. Prep Dig currently has Lipker ranked No 38 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.
