The Muskegon area certainly is a beautiful location.

But, it also produces some elite volleyball talent.

In the Class of 2025, we have seen one of the state's all-time greats come from the area.

She leads a list of six standout players from the class to come from the Muskegon area.

Players listed alphabetically

[player_tooltip player_id='224601' first='Grace' last='Allen'], OH Mona Shores/MVA

The Northern Michigan commit has displayed a great mixture of swing speeds and locations over her prep career. She plays with a high level of awareness and finishes at a high rate. Allen puts the same energy into her offensive that she does into her defense. Allen is working hard to be a dominant six-rotation outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='156343' first='Navea' last='Gauthier'], OH Shelby/FaR Out

Gauthier could go down as the state's all-time kill leader when all is said and done. The Ohio State commit has 2,615 kills through her first three season of prep play. She is 969 kills away from the record held by Leland's Alisha Glass since 2006. Gauthier has gone above that number her last two seasons, including 1,034 last fall as a junior. Gauthier gets a lot of swings, but she puts away nearly one-third of her swings.

[player_tooltip player_id='156300' first='Sadie' last='Haase'], MH Fruitport/FaR Out

Haase has been a go-to option for Fruitport in the past few years. As a middle, she's able to put up big kill totals. Haase moves around the net very smoothly and she's even shown she can put down a back-row attack. She adjusts well to the ball and reads her opposing blockers well. Haase can be a real momentum-shifter as well, as she plays with a lot of competitive fire.

[player_tooltip player_id='156344' first='Hannah' last='Heiss'], OH West Michigan Christian

Heiss got a chance to really shine this past fall for WMC and she was able to come through with a lot of big-kill tallies. Heiss generates a lot of momentum at the net and has a big wind up that allows her to high-point the ball well and attack at sharp angles. Heiss moves smoothly around the court and has a smooth delivery with her passing game.

[player_tooltip player_id='156342' first='Abby' last='Leffring'], MH/OH West Michigan Christian/FaR Out

Leffring stands over 6-foot tall and that makes her an imposing middle at the D3 level. She really picked up her game toward the end of last fall, showing a lot of intelligent choices and a more aggressive attack. Leffring uses her length really well and efficiently. She seems at home in the middle, but has the athleticism to be a factor defensively around the court as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='400329' first='Izzy' last='Sturtevant'], L/DS Mona Shore/MVA

Sturtevant is a player to keep an eye on, as she has compiled a lot of digs in her time with Mona Shores. She stays very low to the ground on her serve receive and looks like she is on autopilot while patrolling the back row. She's got a nose for the ball and is drawing a lot of college attention for her consistency and ability to be a leader.
