On June 19, I scouted the second week of high school summer league action at Nemaha Central Middle School.

Multiple high schools are participating in the weekly competition in Seneca. I watched four matches in the junior varsity and freshman division.

Here is a look at prospects from the class of 2028 who caught my attention.

I want to remind players to claim their Prep Dig player profiles if one has been created. Unranked players can create their own "free" profile on Prep Dig, and the next round of rankings is scheduled in July.

[player_tooltip player_id='553768' first='Hadden' last='Bachelor'], 5'10”, MH, Sabetha, ‘28

Bachelor was one of my favorite freshman performers on Wednesday. She has a nasty serve which resulted in two aces in a match against Centralia. She is a lefty with quick feet. Bachelor is a young talent with time to improve her overall game and to increase her on-court confidence.

[player_tooltip player_id='553770' first='Raelynn' last='Lanter'], 5'10”, MH, Sabetha, ‘28

Lanter is a prospect I look forward to watching evolve as an athlete. She has a serious wing span. She is all arms and legs and looks like a light breeze would blow her over, but don't be deceived. She has natural ability and a bright future. I would offer her the same advice I give to multiple young prospects, don't be afraid to develop a mean streak on the court or be afraid to hit the gym to add upper body strength. She looked comfortable playing on the back and front row.

[player_tooltip player_id='553772' first='Kya' last='Franklin'], 5'9”, S/RS, Centralia, ‘28

Franklin is a spongy prospect with lots of life in her step. She can set or hit. Centralia got beat up in the match I scouted and Franklin did not play much in the first set as their opponent went on a deep scoring run with her out of the lineup. She will be a prospect to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='553774' first='Briley' last='Siebenmorgen'], 5'10”, MH, Hiawatha, ‘28

Siebenmorgen is a super raw talent, but coaches can't make prospects taller. She is a tall and physical athlete who could be a beast when she puts it all together. Like a lot of young prospects she had the “deer in the headlight” look a couple of times during the match. If I were to guess I bet she has had a recent growth spurt and still getting used to her frame. She has a long reach and made a couple of blocks against Centralia. She reminds me of Sterling's [player_tooltip player_id='173377' first='Lily' last='Gray'] and she might not be done growing.
