The 16s age level is always a big season in regards to building recruiting momentum and these athletes really coming into their own. They have worked for everything they have earned. Whenever rankings are released, I feel like there needs to be some transparency and a little vulnerability that comes with it. I do not take these lightly. Are they subjective? Absolutely. However, they are just a tool. Colleges will not give or take away a scholarship offer based on a ranking. Athletes are not defined by rankings, they are simply a tool, a place to find information.

is at the top of the Class of 2026 Rankings. What propelled her to the top? I have written before that there was a major transformation for Kremer going from her 15s to 16s season and even from the fall of this past school year at the end of the high school season to where she was at the end of the spring start of the summer. She had much potential as a long lengthy 15s player. As a 16s she has grown into the length and has become a much more physical, dominant attacker. The
Iowa Rockets
16R team played an open level qualifier schedule where they competed against the top teams in the country. They were one match away from punching an open ticket to USAV Nationals in Vegas. This was a tough challenge for them, but these athletes rose to the occasion. Kremer was scoring at a high level, she’s contacting much higher, her backcourt game has immensely improved, she made an appearance at the Under Armour Elite camp, and with all of her tools and attributes can be a big time college prospect. Her ceiling is incredibly high. She has shown what she can do at the highest level of her age group and with the momentum of the past year, she will continue to skyrocket.

are early out of the gates in their verbal commitments. Boeve is heading to Creighton while Naeve will be going to Iowa State. Creighton was on the court of Boeve at the Prep Dig Midwest Live Showcase where Boeve was a big time standout. She has been playing out of the middle for her high school and club ball where her athleticism is just different from others. As she transitions to Creighton in a couple years, she will have options as to how she will be utilized whether its coming out of the middle or swinging on the pin. Creighton has been highly successful with athletes like Boeve where they always develop them into something even more special. Naeve is a high volume, big swing six rotation outside hitter. Iowa State is another program who will utilize big time athletes and put them in as a point scoring pin or a defensive specialist. Dynamic would be an understatement in describing Naeve. Both of these athletes also had a successful track season, qualifying in multiple events.

has established herself as the top middle in Iowa’s Class of 2026 where she has athleticism and physicality that allows her to play at a high level. I’m sure she has been busy navigating the recruiting process as she will be a priority for D1 Midwest programs to keep her close to home. She has already won a state title at Assumption, her Iowa Select 16 Mizuno team has had a successful club season and they will be going to Orlando to compete in the 16 Open Division of AAU Nationals. Derrer draws plenty of attention from the other side of the net which allows her pins to terminate. Her block is also something that makes the other side of the net think twice when it comes to a big swing.

is another state champion out of North Scott High School and is club teammates with Derrer for Iowa Select 16 Mizuno. Watching Moeller at the Mideast Qualifier in Indy this past spring totally sold me on her being moved up and also being an absolute steal at the next level. Out of system, she is not afraid to take a big swing on the outside. She has an aggressive approach and a violent arm swing. I had seen Moeller plenty of times prior, but this past March she was just different. Her ability to take over matches in a variety of ways is something you can’t really measure on paper. With her return to North Scott, along with
