Let’s give one more nod to the high-flying senior. Moeller has established herself as Iowa Select 18 Mizuno’s leading attacker, but that’s only part of the story. She patrolled the middle-back area with incredible confidence and stayed involved on the pipe in first-ball situations. The SIU-Carbondale commit has proven she’s ready to make a splash at the next level.

Why not start with one of Iowa Select’s seasoned veterans? Moeller has made an indelible mark in the Iowa Select gym, and she added a few more highlight moments on the club’s home court. Her six-rotation impact lifted 18 Mizuno to a perfect mark in pool play, setting up a run to big prize on Sunday. Like any great outside hitter, Moeller’s influence wasn’t limited to her scoring prowess along the net. She also dialed up massive runs through her serve and brought ample intensity as a middle-back defender. Bracket play should offer more of the same.

McKenzie Moeller is one of the top available attackers from the Class of 2026 in Iowa. She is athletic and physical where she can absolutely pack a punch from the pin. She has earned all the honors in Iowa, including All State and won a state title for North Scott High School in Class 4A (Largest is 5A). This is a really dangerous Iowa Select team out of the Quad Cities. This group has plenty of experience playing together and will be one who could upset some squads along the way. Moeller is definitely one to watch, put a star next to her name and court when recruiting this weekend.

Moeller is the type of athlete who plays with a fierce, competitive edge that everyone will want on their side of the net. She had a huge high school season for North Scott earning All Conference, All District, and All State honors. She is a six rotation player who is extremely terminal from the outside, but can also score points out the backrow. With as much volleyball as I watch there tends to be certain moments that I associate with certain players and for Moeller it was her performance at the Mideast Qualifier in Indianapolis this past spring. She kept finding ways to score points in a tight three set win to advance in bracket play. That’s the type of player she can be, the one others look to in order to get that win.

Moeller caught my eye right away as a super explosive attacker at the net. She takes an aggressive approach, takes a big jump, and has a fast swing. Moeller is fast in transition and works hard to make herself available to attack every time.
