SCVA Girls 15U Championships: Middles to Know

As the SCVA season draws to a close, PrepDig was on-site for Day 1 of the Girls 15U Championships at the Momentous Gym in Irvine. The venue was filled with familiar faces, all eager to cap off their season with a great showing to the college coaches in attendance and the hope of earning a final SCVA medal.   Colleges needing to get a jump on middles, should have the following athletes on their list.    [player_tooltip player_id='493348' first='Jordan' last='Rall'] was one of the most impressive middles of the day. With her solid athletic build and impressive strength, Jordan moves with ultimate power at the net. Her court awareness allows her to always know where the ball is, consistently making the correct predictions on her quick approach path. Throughout my observation, I never saw her turn her back to the net; if the ball is within her reach, she will make a play on it. Jordan is aggressive with strong tips and hits angles with a solid snap. Any program searching for a dynamic middle who is laser-focused should definitely consider adding Jordan to their contact list. Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig       [player_tooltip player_id='517840' first='Evie' last='Pool'] showed great movement at the net. She is tall, athletic, and quick with her off-the-net transitions. Evelyn is smart with her offensive talents and has excellent timing, especially on off-speed sets. She was dialed in on defense, demonstrating correct eye movement when setting up for the block. Evelyn communicates well with her teammates, providing praise and encouragement to keep them motivated. Standing at 6'4", Megan leverages her height to present an imposing presence, using her physical advantage to display exceptional blocking skills Her heightened focus and keen awareness on the court have further enhanced her defensive skills. Megan's dedication and hard work throughout the season have made her a significant asset at the net, contributing greatly to her team's overall performance. Her ability to read the game and make quick adjustments ensures she is getting better at getting in the right position to make impactful plays. With a powerhouse swing, she dominates on offense, while her impressive reach allows her to deliver decisive tips over the block, keeping opponents on their toes. On defense, Sanai establishes an impenetrable wall, effectively limiting the court for her libero to defend. Her aggressive serving adds another dimension to her game, applying pressure on the opposing team from the service line. Furthermore, her commitment to hustling into defensive position highlights her dedication to every aspect of the game. Sanai's all-around skills make her a valuable asset to consider for collegiate opportunities. Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig       Vani Tatoulian possesses the ideal build for an athletic middle blocker. I first saw Vani play for her high school in La Canada, and while she impressed then, she has truly fine-tuned her skills this club season. Her speed across the net allows for exceptional footwork, making her a formidable presence. Vani contributes not only at the net but also shines at the service line, consistently supporting her team. She is sharp and strong in both her volleyball fundamentals and verbal communication, playing with an elevated IQ that allows her to know exactly what shots to take and what angles to hit.
