Prep Dig Kansas released a major update to the class of 2025 rankings today.

There are now 230 ranked athletes in the class of 2025 and among that group are several athletes who climbed the rankings with the enthusiasm of a 12-year-old climbing a rock wall.

Athletes, parents, and coaches can click on the “How We Rank” story under the “Rankings” menu to learn more about ranking players.

One factor that played a key role in this latest round of updates was the recruitment status of athletes. Almost every athlete in the Top 50 has received at least one college offer. As we get deeper into the recruitment process athletes receiving offers will climb the ranks, while unoffered prospects tend to drop.

I don't remove any athletes from the rankings, so players who have chosen other college sports to compete in or let me know they no longer are looking to play collegiality see significant dips in their ranking status.

While I strive for perfection, I also understand that mistakes and typos happen. If you have questions about the rankings or see a mistake please feel free to DM me on social media @KSScoutDeck or email me at deckscoutks@gmail.com.

Remember you attract more bees with honey than you do vinegar. If you send me a negative or rude email, do not expect a reply. Also, keep in mind we do not update rankings on a week-to-week basis. Once an athlete is ranked in a spot, they stay there until the next round of rankings. We do attempt to update the rankings three to four times a year.

The next update for this particular class with more than likely take place in October or November.

Here is the first report of multiple reports this week featuring five athletes who increased their stock value of the past three months.

[player_tooltip player_id='493380' first='Kaydence' last='Torrez'], 6'1”, MB, Shawnee Heights

Torrez moved 40 slots just the night before the rankings were released. The Shawnee Heights prospect announced on July 1 that she was committing to the Wichita State Shockers. I watched Torrez play just a couple of weeks ago since this was a bit of a real “shocker.” I did not doubt that Torrez was a top-level prospect, but did not see any posts about her offers and she said nothing to me the last couple of times I saw. I guess you have a secret to keep, it will be safe with Torrez. Wichita State is going to be deep at the middle position with the addition of Torrez and Beloit's No. 6 ranked [player_tooltip player_id='493398' first='Sophia' last='Thompson'].

[player_tooltip player_id='173384' first='Jenna' last='McClure'], 5'8”, OH, Blue Valley Northwest

McClure rised from the No. 47 position to No. 14 after committing to Florida International University. She heads into her senior season looking to reach the 1,000-career mark in digs and kills. She has more than 600 kills and digs entering her final prep season. She plans to join two Kansas High School alumni at FIU. St. James Academy's Anna Feldkamp and Olathe Northwest's Jillian Huckabey are currently on the Panthers' roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='326464' first='Bria' last='Dawson'], 6'0”, MB, Olathe North

Dawson moved up eight positions from No. 22 to No. 16. The Olathe North prospect has verbally committed to Central Missouri. She has slowly climbed the rankings over the past two seasons and is an energetic young lady with an infectious positive attitude. She will eventually join a Jennies program that won the MIAA regular season title last season, and has a current roster with seven players from Kansas City Metro area Kansas schools. Dawson will look to increase her kill total of 170 from a season ago and looks to help guide the Olathe North Eagles to a state tournament run.

[player_tooltip player_id='173393' first='Caroline' last='Clayton'], 5'9”, OH, Olathe South

Prep Dig had Olathe South's Clayton ranked at No. 62, but she jumped up to the No. 17 slot in July. Clayton has verbally committed to Western Illinois. Clayton will head to Macomb, Illinois to play for the Leathernecks. Western Illinois is a Division I program currently featuring former Bonner Springs standout Keyana Cruse.

[player_tooltip player_id='173394' first='Natalie' last='Herrington'], 6'1”, MB, Blue Valley North

Herrington moved from No. 53 to being ranked No. 18. The Mustang middle has verbally committed to Northwest Missouri State. Herrington is a front-row specialist who recorded 105 kills and 73 blocks as a junior. She has registered back-to-back seasons with 60-plus blocks. She will join the Bearcats Division II roster that includes former Spring Hill Bronco Kate Frakes.

[player_tooltip player_id='519098' first='Kara' last='Feist'], 6'0”, MB, Great Bend

The Great Bend prospect jumped up 24 spots in the class of 2025 ranking. She is ranked No. 19 after previously being ranked No. 42 overall. She has verbally committed to Fort Hays State. Feist finished with 216 kills and 78 blocks in 82 sets for the Panthers. She joins a Fort Hays State roster which includes multiple ranked athletes from the class of 2024 who were ranked by Prep Dig. Recent graduates, St. James Academy's Ella Goodwin, Smoky Valley's Hope Duncan, Beloit's Mylie Brown, Heritage Christian Academy's Grace Schmedding, and Sacred Heart's Avery Eshleman are all headed west to play for the Tigers.
