The Class of 2027 has a lot of talent that have been doing big things on the national scene during the club season.

While some of them still have yet to get a chance to shine on the prep level, those days are soon approaching with the 2024 season not far off.

We have 20 players ranked in the Class of 2027, but the Watch List is full of players that could go on to reach the next level.

Here's a look at a handful of those Watch List players and what they are bringing to the court.

Players listed alphabetically

[player_tooltip player_id='523840' first='Addison' last='DeVries'], DS/L Grandville/FaR Out

DeVries shows a lot of promise as a developing defender. Her eyes stay locked into the play and the ball, which allows her to get good positioning in the back row. She makes a smooth delivery on her passes and never looks flustered when taking on big hitters. Her court vision and focus will allow her to make a lot of big jumps as a prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Kennedy' last='Duncan'], OH/MH South Lyon/Dynamite

Duncan is a versatile hitter that can play anywhere along the net and make an impact. She's also got the ability to finish at a solid rate from the back row. No matter where she gets the ball, or if it comes from a set or bump, Duncan finds a way to put a good swing on it. She's racked up big kill numbers this club season because she's so consistent.

[player_tooltip player_id='442990' first='Kylie' last='Freeman'], S/DS Romeo/Monsters

Freeman is a nice asset to have on the floor, as she puts as much effort into her defensive play as she does leading the offense. She's very alert and recognizes where the ball is going quickly in order to keep her team in a point. As a setter, she's improving on her accuracy and consistency. Her pacing has picked up to close out the club season.

[player_tooltip player_id='523841' first='Taylor' last='Frost'], S GR Christian/FaR Out

Frost is a prospect that shows good things in all phases of the game. She has good touch on her sets and has found some good chemistry with her middles and pins at different stretches. Frost is also improving on her dumps and when to call her own number. Defensively, Frost supports her hitters well and collects a high number of digs. She's also a force from the service line.

[player_tooltip player_id='523857' first='Joysan' last='Funk'], OH South Christian/MVA

Funk is listed at 5'10”, but has a wingspan that allows her to play even bigger at the net. She stays focused in her approach toward the net, making sure she makes solid contact. Funk also has the ability to play either pin, or even make slides into the middle. As she gets more reps, her intensity and speed should pick up to make her a bigger threat as a hitter.

[player_tooltip player_id='442975' first='Cristiana' last='Giglio'], OH Marian/Legacy

Giglio is a composed player on the floor that does a good job of avoiding errors and miscues. She takes what she is given at the net and doesn't force a bad swing. Her court vision and ability to adapt are a strength, as is her ability to not waste energy. She doesn't take a lot of unnecessary steps and keeps a consistent level of play throughout the match.

[player_tooltip player_id='442992' first='Lucy' last='Goss'], OH Rochester Adams/High Performance

Goss is a promising hitter that can finish from either pin and also puts a lot of effort into her defensive play. She's got a good spring off the floor and it comes quick, allowing her to generate a lot of velocity when she gets a clean look at the ball. However, Goss also does a nice job of adjusting at the net and working her offspeed plays. There's a high ceiling for Goss as she continues to add new facets to her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='523835' first='Mackenzie' last='Grater'], DS/L Howell/L2

Grater has looked technically sound during the club season. She does a great job of squaring herself up to the ball and looking it into her forearms. Even when she has to make a sprawl or dive, she finds a way to get her arms in great position. That's helped her be accurate with her feeds to the setter. Now she just needs to keep maintaining that technical ability as the speed of the game continues to amp up.

[player_tooltip player_id='450415' first='Leah' last='Green'], OH/MH Detroit Country Day/Legacy

Green is a 6-foot hitter that uses her length really well. With a long wingspan, she can play very tall at the net, as she does a good job of high-pointing the ball on her swings. She's shown the ability to get her attacks cleanly past blockers to challenge the defenders in the back row. There looks to be room to still get her swing faster and more aggressive, which could make her a very dangerous player.
