Prep Dig Kansas released a major update to the class of 2026 rankings yesterday.

The class now has 175 total ranked athletes and includes 46 new athletes.

Athletes, parents, and coaches can click on the “How We Rank” story under the “Rankings” menu to learn more about ranking players. They can also check out the first two reports on the rankings updates published yesterday.

Here is the third specific report on the new rankings featuring five athletes who climb the rankings ladder.

Tonight I will be scouting summer league action at Nemaha Central High School. June 12 and 13 I will be scouting at the MO/KAN Tournament at Washburn University, so stay tuned in at Prep Dig for more volleyball coverage this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='472938' first='Hailie' last='Vaughn'], 6'0”, OH, Blue Valley Southwest

Vaughn increased her position by nine spots jumping up from No. 32 overall to No. 23. Vaughn shares the ball with a talented group of hitters at Southwest, so her numbers won't pop any eye. However, her athleticism and grittiness will make college coaches stand up and take notice. She finished with 185 kills in 84 sets played last fall. That total came on a Timberwolf squad with seven athletes collecting over 100 kills.

[player_tooltip player_id='357548' first='Reese' last='Huscher'], 5'8”, OH, Hayden

Huscher was one of the biggest climbers in the recent ranking update. The Hayden outside hitter moved 18 slots from No. 46 overall to No. 28. Every time I see her play she has improved her game in some nuance. She is an unselfish player who will get overshadowed this fall on a talented Hayden squad, but make no doubt about it, she will be the glue of that team. She finished with 223 kills and 276 digs as a sophomore. My crystal ball tells me her dig totals will go up her junior season, while her kill numbers might decrease a tick.

[player_tooltip player_id='523672' first='Chloe' last='Kmiecik'], 6'1”, MB, De Soto

De Soto's Kmiecik jumped 16 spots from No. 47 to No. 31. She finished with sophomore season totals of 167 kills and 59 blocks. De Soto is an upcoming program I hope I to see play this fall. The Bobcat middle hitter has a big reach and her numbers will improve as her confidence improves. She has solid blocking technique and just needs to realize she can take over a match.

[player_tooltip player_id='474088' first='Karsyn' last='Horyna'], 5'10”, MB, Washburn Rural

Horyna was previously ranked No. 60 and is now ranked No. 33 overall. I have seen her in action a couple of times this summer at open gyms. She is a gym rat and has a solid corps of supporters around her to help her continue to improve. Rural does not post public stats, so it is often difficult to compare the team's numbers to others. Yet, Horyna understands what it takes to compete and win playing in a perennial state-contending program.

[player_tooltip player_id='474147' first='Karsyn' last='Hastert'], 5'10”, OH, Cair Paravel

Cair Paravel's Hastert increased her stock by 32 positions. She was previously ranked No. 66 overall and is now ranked No. 34. She is in the same boat as Horyna in that she was under-ranked because there is little public information available about her game. Once I got a chance to see her play in person, I was impressed with her athleticism and work ethic. She can improve her recruitment stock by expanding her camp participation and social media footprint.
