I scouted summer league action in Seneca on June 10. Six players stood out during two-set victories by Sabetha and the host Thunder.

Here is a look at those six athletes who are all in the class of 2025 and all interested in playing college ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='465558' first='Cali' last='Honeyman'], 5'11”, OH, Nemaha Central ‘25

Honeyman is ranked No. 44 overall. I saw her play for the Topeka Saints during the club season and last fall for Nemaha Central. Her game continues to improve each time I see her. She recorded seven kills, six digs, and three serve receptions in a win over Hiawatha. She is a six-rotation talent and has one offer from Johnson County Community College in her pocket. I feel like she can play at the Division II level and would recommend her to coaches at that level.

[player_tooltip player_id='493449' first='Reagan' last='Gerety'], 6'0”, MB, Nemaha Central, ‘25

Gerety is currently ranked No. 142 overall and is underrated after watching her on Wednesday. She is smooth for her size and plays solid defense for having such a physical and long frame. She played six rotations and registered a team-high eight kills in the win over Hiawatha. She also collected three serve receptions and two digs. Gerety currently has an offer from Baker University.

[player_tooltip player_id='515151' first='Zoey' last='Sudbeck'], 5'7”, OH, Nemaha Central, ‘25

Sudbeck is currently ranked No. 153 overall. She was the biggest surprise of the night. She bounces off the court like Jack bounces out of a box. She can block, hit, and play solid defense. She had two kills and two digs for the Thunder. She currently does not have any college offers, but would be a solid addition to an NAIA or JUCO program.

[player_tooltip player_id='552355' first='Erin' last='Boltz'], 5'10”, OH, Sabetha, ‘25

It is an overused phrase, but Sabetha as the perfect Thunder and Lightning combination in Boltz and [player_tooltip player_id='552358' first='Aubrey' last='Schmlezle']. Boltz is currently ranked No. 163 overall. She can set and hit. She finished with six kills, an ace, and one block against a high school squad from Nebraska. Boltz has talked to multiple programs, but has not received any offers. She wants to attend veterinary school and is an athlete I would recommend to any Kansas JUCO coach. She is super strong and provides the Thunder for Sabetha who could be a team in Class 3A that schools should be worried about.

[player_tooltip player_id='552358' first='Aubrey' last='Schmlezle'], 5'8”, MH, Sabetha, ‘25

Schmlezle provided the light show for the Bluejays. She is an outstanding athlete who is a six-rotation player. When she gets on top of the ball she destroys it. She had a match-high 13 kills and had the most dominate individual performance of the event. The Sabetha prospect tallied seven digs and 13 serve receptions for a team that came out ready to play. She is another athlete grossly underrated at No. 165. She can play Division II ball all day, every day, and would probably get attention from smaller Division I programs if she played for a larger school or elite club team. Trust me, she is a diamond in the rough!

Hailey Mitchell, 5'8”, DS/L, Sabetha, ‘25

Mitchell was a completely unknown prospect for me heading into the night. I noticed her energy during the warmups, and that energy carried over into the match for Sabetha. She is tall for a libero and is willing to sacrifice her herself to dig tough balls. There was more than one occasion where she stretched out like Gumby and I had no idea how she walked away uninjured. The libero finished with eight serve receptions, five digs, and one kill. She is the emotional spark on a team that played with a farm truck load of emotion.
