Events like Sunday's Nebraska Stock Up Showcase require setters to navigate unusual circumstances. They're tasked with establishing connections with unfamiliar hitters who might be accustomed to different tempos or locations. Despite all these challenges, several setters entered the spotlight in La Vista.

Here are a few players who ran the show at the Nebraska Stock Up Showcase.

It's a great era to be competing for Yutan High School. Jones helped the Chieftans reach last year's state semifinals, and she seems to be aiming higher in 2024. She distributed well at our showcase and provided consistent location to her attackers. Our La Vista event always draws big-city standouts, but this year's Stock Up Showcase drew a wide talent pool from smaller locales. Jones is a perfect example.

Bartholet was a new addition to the Premier Nebraska gym this year, and she didn't wait long to make her mark. The same storyline played out at Sunday's showcase, where Bartholet dished the ball with perfect pace and location. She even manages to establish an attacking presence as a back-row setter with her lethal set-over maneuver. Bartholet's next stop is Omaha Skutt Catholic, the Class B dynasty seeking its tenth consecutive championship.

Bodnar has been a persistent standout throughout 2024. Her move to [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Black paid immediate dividends and gave the team an unquestioned leader at the setter spot. The Omaha Duchesne athlete is particularly adept at setting her middle blockers, whether it's in front or behind her head. She will likely keep running a 5-1 system with Duchesne this fall and could get the Cardinals back into postseason contention.

Kolli has evolved since we first saw her at the 15s level. The Premier Nebraska setter is a natural signal-caller in three-hitter rotations, but her skills go beyond these second contacts. Premier 16 Silver was often on the winning end of marathon rallies with Kolli digging serious heat in the right-back area. Positional drills at our showcase tested setters in the defensive phase, and Kolli promptly delivered.

Norfolk Catholic gets another one. We've mentioned the Knights in our post-event coverage before, and Wattier has been a big contributor since the start of her prep career. The Class of 2026 setter embraced the pressure of competing in the state tournament as a freshman. She continued progressing in Year 2 while increasing her influence as a frontcourt attacker. Wattier can wear a lot of different hats and remains a versatile threat in any rotation.

We're completing a Premier Nebraska trifecta with Wiebelhaus cementing her place on this feature. The Premier 16 Red setter had some of her best club performances during the late-season grind, particularly at Show Me and the GPR Bid Tournament. And, like many of the setters on this list, Wiebelhaus can also shoulder an attacking role if needed. Millard West will capitalize on Wiebelhaus' range while pursuing Class A's final bracket.

Guenther likely felt right at home in our showcase's venue. The [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] standout has put in many reps at The Volleyball Academy and added to her highlight tape last Sunday. Her willingness to take risks and set against the grain stood out in team drills, leading to one-on-one opportunities for outside attackers. Guenther is poised to develop further with Millard South this fall.

Moulton was tabbed as a player to watch in our pre-event coverage. She had an outstanding 15s season with Club Legacy and proved her worthiness to run a 5-1 offense. The Stock Up Showcase offered another opportunity for Moulton to demonstrate her prowess in two-hitter rotations. Frontcourt blocking never wavered with Moulton at the net, and she wasn't afraid to call her own number on the setter dump. Look out for Omaha Concordia's underclassman athletes.
