Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Wattier is a triple-double threat every time she steps on the court. She immediately entered Norfolk Catholic’s lineup as a freshman in 2022, helping the Knights climb to a state title match appearance. Even as a first-year player, Wattier emerged as a setter-opposite hybrid who could do anything around the dial. After primarily terminating in last year’s frontcourt, Wattier is back to dishing the offense with eight assists per set. However, we won’t be surprised to see Wattier take a few of her own swings this postseason.

Wattier is built for stages like AAU Nationals. She has reached multiple state tournaments as a setter-hitter for Norfolk Catholic, and 2025 could offer more of the same. Before her senior campaign, however, Wattier had unfinished business with Nebraska Juniors 17 Black in Orlando. She dished out a quick, explosive offense that adapted well to a stacked 17 Premier division. Wattier also exhibited the same aggression we’ve come to expect in her signature setter-opposite hybrid role. The fall season will bring the full arsenal back into the spotlight.

Wattier did a little of everything for Norfolk Catholic this year. She has always held a setter-hitter hybrid role with the Knights, but Wattier’s numbers escalated considerably in 2024. Her 3.5 kills per set marked a career-best, and she added four assists per set to her ledger, too. This multi-sport athlete has flourished in the Nebraska Juniors gym and remains one of the state’s most fascinating do-everything prospects.

Let’s bring a setter-hitter into this feature. Wattier is the kind of athlete who can churn out triple-doubles as if it’s an ordinary feat. The setter-outside hybrid player amassed over 300 digs, assists, and kills over the regular season. She also had Norfolk Catholic’s best ace total. Wattier’s full repertoire was on display when she registered 21 kills, 25 digs, and 17 assists in Norfolk Catholic’s five-set quarterfinal win over Yutan. That’s a next-level triple-double.

Wattier is back on her upward track. We got an early introduction to this Norfolk Catholic setter as she guided the Knights to the state championship match as a freshman. Since then, Wattier has expanded her range as a player who can run an offense or take big swings on the right side. This dual role has been prevalent during her club tenure with Nebraska Juniors, where Wattier remains an all-around star. We were thrilled to watch her compete at last month’s showcase, too.

Norfolk Catholic gets another one. We’ve mentioned the Knights in our post-event coverage before, and Wattier has been a big contributor since the start of her prep career. The Class of 2026 setter embraced the pressure of competing in the state tournament as a freshman. She continued progressing in Year 2 while increasing her influence as a frontcourt attacker. Wattier can wear a lot of different hats and remains a versatile threat in any rotation.

Let’s check in with one of Norfolk Catholic’s rising stars. Wattier immediately entered the prep scene as a freshman and has had a similarly sustained impact with Nebraska Juniors. She can take full command of 16 Black’s setter spot but has also seen tenures as a pin attacker. That aggressive mindset translates well to events like AAU Nationals, which can test a setter’s fortitude against tough competition. Wattier can handle it all.

So, now we’re on a run of 2026 setters. Class C2 is building something special, and it’s also welcoming a new powerhouse to the club this year. Norfolk Catholic joins the fray from Class D1, landing Wattier on our all-C2 list. This brilliant setter may also make her presence felt as a frontcourt attacker this year, expanding the sophomore’s overall impact.

Wattier has seemingly done a little bit of everything in her prep career, and she still has so much time left to keep developing. She was a major contributor to Norfolk Catholic’s runner-up effort in Class D1 last season. Wattier’s tenure with the Knights showed that she can set and hit in a do-everything role. That same storyline has materialized with Nebraska Juniors, and Wattier’s range emerged yet again at last weekend’s showcase.

Wattier gets another nod as the Nebraska Juniors 15 Black’s club season winds down. What a run it’s been for this setter. She was an early addition to our 2026 radar with her ascent to the state championship with Norfolk Catholic last fall. Wattier certainly hasn’t slowed down on the club side, providing a savvy mixture of finesse and aggression for 15 Black. We’re anxious to see what her next fall outing might bring.
