Class 3 saw Blair Oaks make a threepeat with a 5-set win over youthful Ursuline Academy. Class 3 power Pleasant Hill returned to the final four and finished 3rd with a sweep of Clever. Middles for Class 3 dominate the 2027 class with some future big-time recruits. Below is a list of my top 8 returning players.

[player_tooltip player_id='464561' first='Ziah' last='Schmutz'] – 5'9” – Outside – Mt. Vernon

A youthful roster returns for Mt. Vernon, and Ziah is the top attacker, returning with 325 kills to accompany her 218 digs and 346 assists. She has excellent hands, but her attacking ability is what stands out. Quick feet allow her to get to the ball, and she is a terminating hitter on out-of-system balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='485570' first='Eden' last='Robart'] – 6'1” – Middle – Potosi

The Trojans have the Robart sisters, making them a tough team to beat. Eden finished 2nd in kills only to big sis with 268 kills. She can hit on either pin, but her movement to the pins and transition footwork make a solid middle. She has the height, length, and power and will develop into a big-time player for Potosi.

[player_tooltip player_id='485574' first='Eva' last='Alexander']– 5'8" – Middle – Oak Grove

Tough! That is the best word to describe Eva. Led her team in kills with 246 and used her power and volleyball IQ to rip through teams. She is a very athletic player who's playing above her age and returns to be the team leader.

[player_tooltip player_id='485605' first='Ryenn' last='Gordon'] – 5'8" – Outside – Centralia

The top returning kill leader for the Panthers with 173 will be back in full force. Ryenn has a big swing on the left pin and sees the block exceptionally well. She's a long 5'8" who uses her athleticism to outmuscle the block. Keep an eye out for Ryenn; she will be her team's focal point on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='485608' first='Aryana' last='Spry'] – 6'1" – Middle – Savannah

Aryana has aspects to her game that you can't teach. She's got the height to be a menace in the middle, uses her length to hit over the block, and already has excellent power. The Savages have a player who will develop into a beast in the middle, and watch as her kill total doubles this season from 168.

[player_tooltip player_id='475332' first='Miley' last='Layton'] – 5'10" – Middle – Pleasant Hill

Miley made the most of her first season for the Chicks. She helped her team make a return to the final four, provided her team with 114 kills, and led her team in blocks with 53. Watch Miley's development as she tries to get the Chicks back to a third straight final four.

Maggie wood – 5'5" – Outside – Fredericktown

The Black Cats have been on the verge of state playoffs each year and return enough this year to be a significant threat. Maggie provided her team with a solid six-rotation outside, leading her team in serve receive, 4th in digs with 231, and 4th in kills with 128. I expect her kill total to double this season to replace losses to graduation.

Kaile March – 5'11" – Middle – Hallsville

Kaile can potentially be a massive presence in the Indians' middle. She is raw, but her potential is noticeable. Work on timing; it will develop her into a solid middle. She finished last season with 147 kills and 64 blocks.
