When we release new and improved rankings, we keep in mind a few things. For one, 60+ kids have already committed to play at the next level, so our focus moves to those who need it. Two, we break down their abilities by potential position, not necessarily where they might play right now. With that being said, here are five athletes with aspirations to play at the next level that have caught our eye this past cycle.

[player_tooltip player_id='172313' first='Avery' last='Carroll'], 5-9 OH/DS, Carmel

Known more for her defense and serve receive than her attacking, she could do both as a six-rotation outside for a smaller school at the next level. Anticipatory and quick, Miss Carroll is a reliable passer who can pass half the court if you let her, while keeping defenses honest with her ability to hit multiple shots in transition. I like her ability to take any volleyball situation and make the ball immediately better when she touches it. A "glue" kid, for lack of a better term.

[player_tooltip player_id='173241' first='Taylor' last='Woods'], 5-11 OH, West Lafayette

With upper body strength for days, Taylor is a strong and powerful three-rotation attacker at the next level. She's also well known in the track and field scene, as her shot and disc throwing has earned her multiple honors at high school track events over the years. Power,. pace and athleticism are what you can expect from Taylor, with a sprinkling of multisport smarts.

[player_tooltip player_id='172319' first='Addison' last='Hopper'], 5-9 RS, Westfield

More of a beach player than anything, there is no other volleyball player with a more apt last name than Miss Hopper. This girl can JUMP, and uses that athleticism to her advantage in both the indoor and outdoor disciplines of our sport. Yes, her size might be a turn-off for recruiters, but she more than makes up for it with a high volleyball IQ and extensive success. She works, she wins and she knows more about both sports than most.

[player_tooltip player_id='192102' first='Ava' last='Kissel'], 5-8 RS/MB, Tecumseh

Already making a couple of state title match appearances in her career, Ava is a springy and fast middle who should project to being a terminal right side at the next level. I have personally seen Miss Kissel dominate future NCAA Division I middles on the biggest stage simply because of her speed and jumping ability. This is an athLETE that can play multiple positions across the front row, all with a great attitude and work ethic.

[player_tooltip player_id='152942' first='Faith' last='Kresge'], 5-8 OH, Greenwood Christian

With a strong upper body and fast feet, Faith has the tools and the talent to be a small-school six-rotation outside for someone that needs one. Being the multi-sport kid like she is, however, I would not be surprised if she played basketball at the same small school in her future. Her attacks are controlled and precise, almost like she can see what will score before it happens. With GCA's recent volleyball success, this might be another strong year for her recruiting, because waiting until after season to get a commitment from her might be too late.
