Michigan Freshman Showcase: All-Freshman Dream Team

<p><strong><em>Be sure to follow @lshotvb on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/lshotvb/">Instagram</a>, <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@lshotvb?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc">Tik Tok </a>and <a href="https://x.com/LineShotVBall">Twitter</a> for all things volleyball!</em></strong></p>   <p>–</p>   <p>The second year of the Prep Dig Freshman Showcase was one for the books!</p>   <p>Last Sunday, we got a peak of what is to come over the course of the next four years from this class. With a heavy dose of east Michigan talent, we got a little peak of what Northern Michigan has to offer too.</p>   <p>The Freshman showcase was wall-to-wall talent and energy! The gym was electric. With over 40 kids in the gym, there was a lot to break down and evaluate. </p>   <p>This is a look at who was the best of the best that the 2024 Michigan Freshman Showcase had to offer! This is the Freshman Showcase Dream Team brought to you by Line Shot Volleyball! It's also not every day that you get an eighth grade dominate the way that this player does. [player_tooltip player_id='587564' first='Lexi' last='Coleman'] is a name to keep atop your lists of must watch players over the course of the next five years. She's got the heaviest arm in the gym, but Coleman can also pass and set like it's second nature. It's a shame we have to wait a whole year to see Coleman begin her high school career. She's going to light it up!</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson']</h2>   <p><em>6'0 OH - LAKELAND</em></p>   <p>Now, this is an outside hitter that we will be seeing a lot of this fall. [player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson'] not only impressed, but she is playing like a seasoned vet. With this calm, composed demeanor, Nelson is unafraid to take the big swings and dive into the defense. I was particularly impressed with Nelson's wrist control that curated some fascinating shots on the court.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/DSC01477.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-586538" style="width:281px;height:auto" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='569772' first='Lauren' last='Sheldon']</figcaption></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='569772' first='Lauren' last='Sheldon']</h2>   <p><em>6'0 MB - STONEY CREEK</em></p>   <p>I cannot wait to see what this player's freshman year cooks up to be. [player_tooltip player_id='569772' first='Lauren' last='Sheldon'] is handedly one of, if not, the best middle blockers in this class. But at the showcase, Sheldon showed off some huge versatility. Her ability to terminate anywhere along the net is a huge bonus for Stoney Creek. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='569774' first='London' last='Gibson']</h2>   <p><em>6'1 MB - MARIAN</em></p>   <p>This is an athlete that is poised for a huge career. Showing signs of some extremely high level play, [player_tooltip player_id='569774' first='London' last='Gibson'] can be a game changer. With her height and long reach, Gibson can be suffocating as a blocker and an intense attacker when she gets good contact on the ball. She was one of the top middles at the Frosh Showcase.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='560553' first='Macaire' last='Kudary']</h2>   <p><em>5'10 OH/OPP - TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL</em></p>   <p>Making the trek all the way from the Northern part of the LP, [player_tooltip player_id='560553' first='Macaire' last='Kudary'] came to play. An attacker that can be extremely efficient on either pin, Kudary was really exciting on the right pin. She has a heavy arm and a nice range of shots on the right pin that you don't typically see from players at this level.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/DSC01596_c6fec7.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-587671" style="width:282px;height:auto" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Kendall Sierzputowski</figcaption></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kendall Sierzputowski</h2>   <p><em>5'1 S - TRAVERSE CITY WEST</em></p>   <p>There may have only three setters here, all three deserving of a feature on this team, but there was something really fun about Kendall Sierzputowski. At first glance, yes, she's only 5'1. No height is too short for her big play. Sierzputowski moves so well around the court and runs such a sophisticated style of offense, she stood out for her maturity on the court. She's going to be a lot of fun to watch her career unfold.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='553151' first='Ashlyn' last='Pelon']</h2>   <p><em>5'7 L - MARIAN</em></p>   <p>Speaking of players that had a feel to them that was much older than just a freshman, [player_tooltip player_id='553151' first='Ashlyn' last='Pelon'] is one of those players. Pelon plays such a cerebral game in the back court. Always a step ahead of the opposing offense, no matter how big the swing was, Pelon makes it look easy. I was also a fan of her knack to attack the ball with her hands on first contact. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='454374' first='Addison' last='Nostrandt']</h2>   <p><em>5'6 L - BIRCH RUN</em></p>   <p>This is another libero that really stood out for her mature play. [player_tooltip player_id='454374' first='Addison' last='Nostrandt'] is no stranger to the tough attackers, playing up a level in club for the entirety of her career thus far. Nostrandt is a silent, but deadly player. She doesn't do anything too flashy but lets her play speak for itself. It speaks volumes!</p>
