The frosh showcase took place in Rockville, Maryland. This was the first showcase in which the frosh were broken out into a separate event. There was another scout watching remotely on Baller TV and she also named her top performers. You can see some of her comments at Prep Dig Virginia (@PrepDigVA) / X .

Below are seven of the 14 top performers selected. The next seven will be in a second article. Another top performer who helped with the photos and Video is [player_tooltip player_id='218149' first='Giselle' last='Norris'].

[player_tooltip player_id='536721' first='Ana' last='Woods'] (outside, 6'0" Holy Cross/Metro)

Holy Cross has lost Emerson Sellman to Ohio State. Certainly, don't mean to put any pressure on her but it would not surprise me that [player_tooltip player_id='536721' first='Ana' last='Woods'] tales over her position as a frosh. She is that good. She may not have the height of Emerson but she still hits the ball hard, plays a solid six rotations and creates firepower in the back row with her attacks. A potential impact player her first year in high school.

Ellie Ayala (setter, 5'8" Savannah Arts Academy/Club Savannah 14 Mizuno)

Ellie first caught my eye with her hits from the right side. While she lists at 5'8" she puts the ball to the floor pretty quickly. When I looked at her profile it shocked me to see she was a setter. So, I watched her a little as a setter. Definitely has the impact to make a difference on the volleyball court. If I did not use her in a 5/1 I would still use her in the front row for her hitting ability. Clearly, you have to love her attitude to come to this event all the way from Georgia.

[player_tooltip player_id='536728' first='Lalah' last='Washington'] (right side, 6'0", Dr. Henry A Wise/Metro)

Lalah has some height for the right side. She can also hit the ball hard. Dr. Henry A. Wise seems to put out some talented volleyball players. While I remember watching Metro 14 play at Junior Nationals I did not take note of her. I have taken notice after this Prep Dig event. It just shows you what a small window can see during different time periods.

[player_tooltip player_id='587876' first='Ariana' last='White'] (Middle/outside, 5'11", Sidwell Friends/[program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last='']

Photo: Gigi Norris, shot at Prep Dig event

While she was listed as a middle (Edit: Ariana normally plays outside and the identification of her as a middle may have been made in error) she spent the showcase hammering outside sets. She appears to have no trouble hitting the higher sets to the floor. At 5'11" outside seems to be her best fit. The athleticism exists to play the pins. She also brings the quickness to cover the back court.

[player_tooltip player_id='515489' first='Chloe' last='Canetto'] (right side, 6'3". Northern/Metro)

Photo: Gigi Norris, shot at Prep Dig event

At 6'3" she certainly brings height to her game. She also has a left handed swing perfect for a right side. Still needs a little more work on the arm swing to get better extension and whip with her arm but the intangibles exist to make her an impact player. Normally, a player with her height does not move fast, but she seems an exception.

[player_tooltip player_id='569865' first='Eireni' last='Scott'] (outside, 5'10", St. Andrews Episcopal/[program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last='']

Photo: Gigi Norris, shot at Prep Dig event

Eireni was one of the top hitters for [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] at the Junior Nationals in Las Vegas. She continued to show off her talents at the Prep Dig frosh showcase in Rockville, Maryland. She swings hard and covers six rotations. A player to watch oozing with talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='587878' first='Delaney' last='Malloy'] (libero/ds, 5'4", Flint Hill/Columbia)

Photo: Gigi Norris, shot at Prep Dig event

Because of enrollment concerns Flint Hill faced restrictions in recruiting athletes that did not attend their feeder schools. They appear to have picked up a solid incoming frosh in [player_tooltip player_id='587878' first='Delaney' last='Malloy']. Of course, one of the team's strengths is their back row with [player_tooltip player_id='238358' first='Evie' last='Huang'] and [player_tooltip player_id='181279' first='Kadi' last='Pynchon']. Add a third player to the list. Daniel shows good hustle and a solid platform to consistently deliver good passes to the setter.
