Top Performing Outsides From The Freshman Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With a record-breaking number of participants, the PrepDig Freshman Showcase went off with a bang, showing off a ton of talent from four different courts. Today's version of our positional breakdowns from the class of '28 includes the Outsides that stood out the most. I rarely see underclassmen utilize their core for power the way Kolby did &amp; all the kills down the line were a product of it. She's a high flyer, and I expect Lincoln Way East to showcase her at the Varsity level immediately. Elle has all the tools, she has the size to block hitters 1on1 from the pin, the heavy hand &amp; jumps well for her size. Coming off a season playing up as an MB on Pineapple 15-1s, she's looking to transition to the Outside where her size will make her elite. A hitter who truly reads defenses at a high level, Elyse showcased the array of shots she can hit to get the ball on the ground &amp; only has to add power when necessary. Amaya's explosive closing steps in her approach rival the best of high school attackers. Most success throughout the showcase came from hitting over the block &amp; isolated power in her shoulder. Katelyn has great natural timing &amp; tempo in her approach. Connecting with all types of setters, she stood out as a hitter who would score regardless of which Pin she hit from. With a fast arm swing and an ability to contact the ball at her highest point nearly every time, Katelyn had tons of success from the back row.
