[player_tooltip player_id='179022' first='Mariah' last='Gaines'] - Roger Bacon | 36% of the vote (*pictured)
Gaines enters the 2024 season as a senior and with 845 total kills for her varsity career for Roger Bacon. The Spartans have seen great success over recent seasons as Gaines has contributed as a primary threat for her entire career and with increased impact each fall. For 2023, her offensive numbers included a career best efficiency at .328 and a 47% kill percentage, terrific numbers considering her volume of work. Over seven sets played this season, the Toledo commit is averaging 3.3 k/s average at a .535 efficiency as one of the premier hitters in the Miami Valley Conference.

[player_tooltip player_id='151958' first='Allie' last='Barrick'] - CHCA | 23% of the vote
The [program_tooltip program_id='431851' first='MVC' last=''] is represented well here with the top two vote getters. Barrick, the #8 ranked prospect in our most recent 2025 rankings, and her CHCA team are off to a 4-0 start behind her heavy impact offensively to start the season. The Lipscomb commit is dominant early one as she is averaging 5.6 k/s on a .470 efficiency. With over 1,100 kills in her varsity career for CHCA, Barrick will see a lot of opportunities this season. She can get off the floor and has continued to expand her range while maintaining her arm speed and power.

[player_tooltip player_id='176102' first='Madyson' last='Long'] - Warren | 16% of the vote
The 6'0 Long wrapped up her 2023 season with 347 total kills and 4.6 k/s average. So far this season she is averaging 3.8 k/s through a solid efficiency of .341. Defensively, her numbers are up so far as she is providing a career best 14.5 digs per match. Committed to Ohio University, Long has a great arm in the air. The #19 ranked prospect in our most recent class of 2025 rankings, she creates good torque and is relentless in her aggressive swing at the top of her jump.

[player_tooltip player_id='176087' first='Katie' last='Gielas'] - Ursuline | 9% of the vote
The 2023 offensives leader in the GGCL with 384 total kills, Gielas is back for her final season picking up where she left off as she is one of three attackers in the conference currently averaging four or more kills per set this early season. Her size at 6'2 has been providing big challenges for opponents in slowing her down at the net while she uses her length well in the back row to create a lot of range passing and digging. She is the #7 ranked prospect in our class of 2025 rankings and is committed to Florida Gulf Coast.

[player_tooltip player_id='480860' first='Bella' last='Borgio'] - 5% of the vote
Calvert graduated some great talent that kept them among Ohio's elite teams in their division for multiple seasons. They will now rely on a team of non-seniors, but that does not mean they are without talent or experience. Borgio, just a sophomore, is among those core prospects that will lead them in 2024 as they develop their own competitive identity. At 5'11, she ranked high in our first issue of the 2027 class rankings and has started off this high school season well with a 2.5 k/s average.
