By The Numbers: Five Top Uncommitted Defenders

At 25-1, the Knights are one of the top teams in the state in any class, and play a schedule that reflects that. Bradee has been the defensive anchor at Northview for some time and is well north of 2000 career digs. She can put balls away from anywhere, and in any tempo, but definitely looks at home in the middle. Small but mighty, Miss Ockerman has the libero jersey locked down for the Vikings. I'm a huge fan of the work ethic and relentlessness, despite the score and any game situation. Too often, I've seen teams mail in the last couple of weeks of their season because of the lack of success---not Somer. Her "hobby" has her as one of the top blockers in the junior class in the state, which makes sense considering how much of the sport of basketball is in defense of the net in volleyball. She can pound a few too, what with her athleticism and jumping ability. The 18-9 Bulldogs are absolutely led, both offensively and defensively, by Miss Wills. She's light on her feet, calm and cool in serve receive, and anticipates well by reading hitters and adjusting.
