Amaya Lahtrop, Newaygo

We talked about Newaygo keeping busy early in the 2024 season when we looked at the early sophomore kill leaders. It's playing out here as well. Lathrop had racked up the digs quickly, sitting at 357 on the season already. She's on a run of six straight matches with double-digit digs. That includes a 20-dig performance against Tri-County Area last week.

[player_tooltip player_id='226910' first='Kayla' last='Ostrander'], Eisenhower

Eisenhower is putting the state on notice that it can contend in Division 1. Having Ostrander excelling in the back row is helping. She's got 573 digs through 54 sets played this season. This is up against some of the best hitters in the state as well. She's had at least 16 digs in three of her last four matches. Her highlight was a 37-dig total in a four-set match with L'Anse Creuse North earlier this month.

[player_tooltip player_id='537306' first='Annamarie' last='Myint'], Dexter

The Dreadnaughts are picking up a lot of wins and the play of Myint has been a catalyst to the success. She's sitting at 205 digs on the season. Recently, she had a 17-dig performance against South Lyon East. She's tallied a total of 10 different matches with double-digit digs already.

[player_tooltip player_id='237538' first='Annalise' last='Clark'], Lowell

Another libero from the Grand Rapids area, Clark has been busy contending with a lot of big hitters. Yet, she keeps piling up the digs. Clark is sitting at 200 for the season. Her most-recent outing saw Clark compile 23 digs in a five-set battle with Cedar Springs. She's got eight matches with at least 10 digs this season.

Claire Ponzio, Utica

Ponzio has put up 193 digs on the season for a Utica team that has picked up some nice wins as of late. Though it came in a losing effort, Ponzio had 31 digs in a five-set battle with Marysville earlier this month. She's recorded nine digs or more in four straight matches overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='226913' first='Abbigayl' last='Sells'], Lake Fenton

Lake Fenton has the potential to be a D2 contender and it comes through a balanced effort offensively and defensively. Sells has 154 digs through 37 sets to lead the defensive charge. She's had eight games with at least 10 digs, including 20 in a three-set match with Clarkston last week.

Kaelyn Stephens, Newaygo

Stephens is part of the Newaygo defense that has been picking up a lot of digs through a tireless schedule. She sits at 154 on the season. She's been steady in her play throughout the year despite being in a DS role. Stephens has at least seven digs in nine matches this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'], North Branch

Deshetsky keeps showing she's one of the best all-around players in the state this fall. Despite being the primary offensive option for the Broncos, she's also among the class leaders in digs. Deshetsky looks very polished, tallying 149 digs on the season. She had 16 digs in a big three-set win over Notre Dame Prep earlier this month and also put up 12 against a powerful Northville offense a week ago.

Mya Porter, Coldwater

Porter is consistent in her play this season, tallying 147 digs on the year. She was just shy of 500 coming into the season and is now well on her way toward 1,000 for her career. Porter has put up at least seven digs in eight straight matchups.

Mallory Woodbury, Laingsburg

Woodbury is in a competitive conference and she's proving she can hold her own. She has 144 digs on the season for Laingsburg. She's recorded at least seven digs in six straight matches. Woodbury opened 2024 with double-digit digs in five of her first six matches.
