–

With a full summer under our belts, this has been one heck of a whirlwind for the athletes in Michigan.

Some of the best of the best in the class of 2027 were making some huge announcements. Meanwhile, we still had quite a few big moves from the stars of the 2026 class as well. Just in the first two months of open recruitment, over 15 of the top 25 ranked athletes in the class of 2027 have found their next home!

Commitments flying left and right, it was hard to keep up with who was going where. No need to worry though, because we have you covered. Let's take a look at another addition of Commitment Catch-Up.

[player_tooltip player_id='454358' first='Lily' last='Tripi'] to College of Charleston

6'1 S - Utica Eisenhower/Michigan Elite

Steadily, this player has become one of the strongest players in the class. at 6'1, [player_tooltip player_id='454358' first='Lily' last='Tripi'] has always had quite the advantage over her peers. Put her in the setting position, she really can become a force. Coming into the summer, Tripi was having a very strong sophomore year. In the fall, she led her high school team to a Division 1 Quarterfinals. In club, she began to really come into her own as a formidable setting prospect.

It was a true, full circle moment, [player_tooltip player_id='454358' first='Lily' last='Tripi'] announced that she would be "going home" to South Carolina as a College of Charleston Cougar. Originally born just minutes from campus, this was a big calling card to the burgeoning talent. Nonetheless, CofC is consistently a prominent program in the CAA. With a setter the size of Tripi and her growing skills, this is a big time grab from the Cougs.

[player_tooltip player_id='470031' first='Avery' last='Kapeller'] to Georgetown

6'1 OH - Orchard Lake St. Mary/High Performance

[player_tooltip player_id='470031' first='Avery' last='Kapeller'] is another really strong prospect coming out of the 2027 class. She, too, experienced a huge 'glow-up' in her sophomore year. Acting as the go-to weapon for both of her high school and club squads, Kapeller carried the load with ease. In system, out of system, Kapeller is more than comfortable taking care of the ball. This feature proved very appealing to several big time programs.

With many, well-publicized visits and camp appearances to programs such as Michigan, LSU, Central Florida and more, Kapeller caught a lot of attention. Alas, on her last official visit, she seemingly found her home in Washington, D.C. Kapeller will be heading to the growing Big East conference as a Georgetown Hoya. A program that in many ways can allow Kapeller to continue doing what she does best. This is a huge boost for the Hoyas.

[player_tooltip player_id='839825' first='Camille' last='Robinson'] to Eastern Tennessee State

5'9 OH - Harper Creek/FaR Out

This 2024-2025 year was a rather breakout year for this talent out of the Battle Creek area. Literally flying off of the court and bringing down the thunder, [player_tooltip player_id='839825' first='Camille' last='Robinson'] turned a lot of heads her sophomore year. She was able to lead her Harper Creek team to its first Final Four appearance in 10 years in the fall. She went on to follow that up with a very big development season at FaR Out. As a major role player, Robinson helped lead 16 Black to a Top Ten finish at AAU Nationals in 16 Open.

Eastern Tennessee State, already with an incoming stud from the FaR Out cannon in [player_tooltip player_id='226882' first='Karis' last='Chatfield'], wanted more where that winning came from. Where else to look but in the very next class with [player_tooltip player_id='839825' first='Camille' last='Robinson']? These two have very similar games. Undersized dandies with a lot of pop off of their arm, ETSU could really see their stock in the SoCon rise throughout these next several years.

[player_tooltip player_id='490373' first='Kate' last='Colosky'] to Long Beach State

6'0 MB - Portage Central/FaR Out

I was patiently waiting to hear about where this high-flier was going to next. The wait was well worth it.

[player_tooltip player_id='490373' first='Kate' last='Colosky'] may be one of the most explosive players in the 2027 class. As fast as she launches off of the ground, she is seemingly faster to get on top of the ball and down. While an undersized middle by many standards, it is these specific attributes that had Colosky still highly considered by some of the biggest names in the country. She is a very familiar face in the USA gym, where she is a consistent invitee to the NTDP Training blocks throughout the year.

With options galore, Colosky opted to go from the West SIDE to the West COAST. For the second class in a row, Michigan is sending an athlete to Southern California. Coincidentally, both of which come from the Kalamazoo area ([player_tooltip player_id='828365' first='Taliyah' last='Hanks'] to USC). Colosky announced that she'll be joining one of the big powers of the Big West Conference in Long Beach State.

[player_tooltip player_id='240701' first='Giselle' last='Burlingame'] to Wayne State

5'1 DS/L - Northville/Michigan Elite

Alas, we have our lone 2026 commitment in this edition of Commitment Catch-Up. I have been very curious into where [player_tooltip player_id='240701' first='Giselle' last='Burlingame'] will be off to at the net level. Coming from a LONG line of liberos at Northville, the moment Burlingame got her shot in the jersey, she REALLY made some statements. A statement that goes above the rest. She is a state champion. In a historic, and insane run, by the Northville Mustangs, Burlingame and company won their programs' first ever State Title. Throughout the entire route to the history making win, Burlingame was rock solid.

Luckily for us, she is not going to be far. Right down the road in downtown Detroit, Burlingame has announced in late July that she will be a Wayne State Warrior next fall. This is a huge get for the GLIAC program. As they come into the 2025 season voted to finish third in the conference, a ball control kid as strong as Burlingame will for sure aid in their efforts to surge to a championship.
