Finding new talent is still my favorite part of being a scout.

On August 31, I scouted prep action in Wabaunsee at an eight-team tournament.

Here are four unranked prospects I was impressed with during the event. Prep Dig Player Profiles have been created for all four, and they will be added to the rankings when they are next updated.

Players can claim their profiles at no cost by clicking on the following link and typing in their names. https://prepdig.com/prospect-index/

Players can then add and change team information, contact information, and add video of themselves competing.

[player_tooltip player_id='618488' first='Izzy' last='Wright'], 5'3”, DS/L, Wabaunsee, ‘25

Wright is a nifty libero who is tough as nails. In one set of action that I watched, she had five digs and six serve receptions. She made solid first passes and is a quality leader on a young Charger squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='618489' first='Abi' last='Garcia'], 5'8”, MB/RS, Sacred Heart, ‘27

Garica was a well-rounded athlete who caught my eye. She played better defense than I expected from her. She collected 10 serve receptions, three digs, and two kills in a two-set loss to Northeast Kansas Homeschool in the Knights' first match of the season. She is young and raw, but she has natural athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='618490' first='Mia' last='Vinson'], 5'9”, OH, Heritage Christian Academy, ‘27

The defending Class 3A State Champion roster was gutted by graduation. Vinson is a multi-skilled athlete who will try to help guide the Chargers back to the state tournament in Hutchinson. She was a stat monster in the one set I saw her play racking up four kills, five digs, and five serve receptions. She has a high Volleyball IQ and could be a solid college prospect when all is said and done.

[player_tooltip player_id='618491' first='Lila' last='Sterbenz'], 5'6”, S, Northeast Kansas Homeschool, ‘27

Sterbenz was an interesting athlete to watch. She is a physical setter who moves well and can do a lot on the court. She has a nice serve and did a good job sitting. She elevates well and has a nice tip game. She could be a future leader for the Nighthawks club which is very young.
