Postseason is set to kick off this week so we lead with some short previews of districts 5 and 6 in class 4.

District 5

Jefferson City, Union, Camdenton, Pacific, Capital City, Holt, Washington, Warrenton

Jefferson City is the top seed with 24 wins entering the postseason. They enjoyed a 14-game win streak earlier this year and have defeated all teams in the district they faced this year. [player_tooltip player_id='477954' first='Nola' last='Borgmeyer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='475325' first='Leah' last='Heisler'] have been strong this year.

Second-seed Union enters on a 14-game win streak. Wins on their resume include Washington, Pacific, and Warrenton. [player_tooltip player_id='168038' first='Sophia' last='Helling'] leads the way with 4.7 kills per set.

The third team to watch is Camdenton, who has reached twenty wins this fall. [player_tooltip player_id='224419' first='Bella' last='Breuer'] has paced the team offensively. The final team I think can be in contention is Pacific. They have 21 wins this year and have the personnel to make a three-match run.

Union is hot right now and I believe I picked them last year to win the district and Jefferson City defeated them. So this year, Jefferson City I expect to repeat as district champions.

District 6

Webb City, Carl Junction, Marshfield, Springfield Catholic, Bolivar, Hillcrest, Central (Springfield), Parkview, McDonald County

This is a three-team battle in my eyes. Top seed Webb City comes in with a 25-8-1 record. They do own two wins over Carl Junction this season. The team relies on Jaeli Ruthlege to set the tone offensively with the ball coming off the hands of setter [player_tooltip player_id='222067' first='Savannah' last='Crane'].

Carl Junction is 23-6 on the year. They won their first 18 matches before losing to Webb City. They also have a defeat at the hands of 3rd seed Marshfield. [player_tooltip player_id='178046' first='Karissa' last='Chase'] is the top offensive threat.

Marshfield is the third team we think could win three matches this week. They have the most wins out of the group (29) and defeated numerous teams in this district. Middle blocker Tilly Greenfield has sent back 78 balls via the block this year.

Webb City has the confidence and has been tested in 2024. They have played an array of teams from across the state and I expect them to seal the deal and advance.
