On October 12, I took a beautiful fall drive down Highway 56 to scout two Council Grove Invitational Tournament matches.

The first match I watched was a two-set win by Hesston over Abilene.

Here is a look at four prospects who had solid matches in the Swathers' victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='219716' first='Kendal' last='Brueggen'], 5'10”, OH, Hesston, ‘25 (Pictured Above)

Brueggen is a dual sport prospect who has verbally committed to Missouri State University to play basketball. She can really jump and will be a solid addition to the Bears' basketball roster. She finished with a match-high 11 kills. She also recorded a double-double adding 10 digs. Brueggen had one ace and one block in the win. As a scout who watches both basketball and volleyball, it's always a treat to see multiple-sport prospects have dominant performances.

[player_tooltip player_id='489672' first='Callie' last='Yoder'], 5'3”, DS/L, Hesston, ‘26

Yoder is currently ranked No. 167 in the class of 2026. She plays libero for Hesston and had a solid match. She tallied seven digs and eight serve receptions. She is a take-charge player for the Swathers. She has quick feet and made consistent first passes. She is just a junior, so I am sure I will cross pathes with her again.

Kaycee Mason, 5'8”, RS/MH, Hesston, ‘25

Mason is an unranked athlete who had a nice match. She has a physical frame and jumps well for her size. She recorded five kills and three blocks in the win. From what I heard from her coach it sounds like she is more interested in competing in track and field collegiately, but I would recommend NAIA coaches look for some size should at least check in with her.

Jaycee Proctor, 5'11”, MH/OH, Hesston, ‘28

Proctor is a tall freshman who caught my eye. She has a big reach and a solid net-front presence. She finished with two kills and a block. It sounds like she is also a basketball player, so I will have to keep an eye on her for both Prep Dig and Prep Girls Hoops. She should look to be included in both site's rankings in November. She is athletic and has natural size which can be enhanced for either sport depending on her training.
