Northern Lakes Impact All-League Sophomores

Anthony Wayne and Clay went unbeaten in their respective divisions of the Northern Lakes conference. With some of Ohio's top talent in both the 2025 and 2026 classes, this league also has some quality big potential underclassmen, including these five 2027s that were selected as all-conference honorees.    Ramsdell-Washington has the capability to become a coveted middle prospect from Ohio as her prep career moves forward. She is 6'1 and has a good foundation that she continues to build upon on both sides of the ball. She led Northview with 2.5 k/s and a efficiency of .309. Her offensive skills are versatile as she can elevate and score anywhere around her setter including off of one foot. Defensively, at 3.0 b/m, she is continuing to develop the efficiency of her movement to close down space at the net. Ramsdell-Washington is the lone sophomore to be selected to the 1st team for either Northern Lakes division.     Gardner contributed a bit in her freshman season in 2023, but turned up the effort and output in her sophomore campaign to earn 3.1 k/s as an outside hitter. The Generals are the top-ranked team in Division II and feature a high octane offense that Gardner has been a key part of all season. With some other big arms around her, including the division Player of the Year, this group averages over 14 kills per set as a unit. At 5'11 she has great offensive tools including arm speed and the ability to rip the ball from anywhere on the court. Gardner has big upside and it will be fun to see this team through this playoff run and next season as most of their key pieces will be back.       Sauer filled the role as the Wildcats' primary setter. She dished a total of 567 assists for a 7.2 a/s average, earning her a spot on the all-league 2nd team in the Buckeye division. At 5'10, she is athletic with good movement to pursue and deliver the ball. With some youth around her offensively there is a lot to be excited about Sauer and her team for the future. As she was second on the team in total blocks, she was also second for the Wildcats with her back row defense was through the 7.2 d/m she picked up.       Goetz tied for team high output at 3.4 k/s, earning her 2nd team all-conference recognition for Clay. Her effort helped the Eagles earn an unbeaten league record in the Cardinal division. She gets good elevation and swings with a high elbow that helps maximize her contact point. She is aggressive through her swing, which can generate good power to challenge the defense with good success. Some of her best ball was in recent weeks as she frequently earned double-digit kills, including 19 in a big conference win over Ross.       A 2nd team all-league pick in the Cardinal division, Parker was one half of a solid middle tandem for the Little Giants, one of the best pairs in the middle phase throughout the league. She averaged 3.1 k/s and 2.5 b/m as she has great net presence with her size and 6'0 and being left-handed, a rare quality for an attacker that swings from the middle frequently. She has tools to swing on the right pin as well, which could be a great position for her as she develops her skills to increase stock for the next level. Parker earned nine kills and six blocks as Ross most recently upended league foe Clay. They next will face Dublin Scioto.
