Watching the Dallas Skyline 17 Royal team in the 2024 club season was quite a treat. This was one of the more physically imposing teams on the club circuit where they have plenty of depth and athleticism at every position. One athlete who was a big spark was Chichi Nnaji who will be heading to Notre Dame along with her teammate Sophia Thornburg. Nnaji provides a solid block and is someone who can terminate out of the middle or right side. Her ceiling is incredibly high. This is a special class coming in for Notre Dame which along with their 2024 class will be sure to make waves in the ACC.

Addy Azavedo out of the Portland area will be heading North to Washington as a prime time commit at the libero position. She has prepped at Jesuit High School and has played club for Athena who is starting to produce some big name commits. When it comes to serve receive Azavedo has seam right and left where she covers a ton of ground. She glides on the court where she makes the first contact look effortless. The movement is efficient and controlled where she is quietly making a huge impact no matter what team she is playing for.

Pretty special when you can be part of the first of anything, and that's what this recruiting class for Vanderbilt is looking to do. Ariel Chime is part of an electric Class of 2025 who will be taking the court next fall for Vanderbilt's first team. Chime comes from Southern California where she has been playing for Coast as a physical and athletic middle blocker. She is able to establish a big block while getting out in transition and being available to score points. She is another one who has a huge upside at the next level where her best volleyball is still ahead.

Another setter from Kairos Elite in Sioux Falls, South Dakota heading to the Big Ten. Sophia Randall will be heading to Illinois along with club teammate in libero Taryn Kirsch. Illinois currently has Kairos alum Raegen Reilly while Bergen Reilly has been a star setter at Nebraska. Sophia Randall is fundamentally sound in every aspect of the setter position from her footwork, taking the ball high, remaining neutral with her hands, and knowing when to attack. She is a definite floor general for her side of the net where her game will translate well to the next level.

Another Illinois commit who has been so fun to watch the past few years. I was able to see Wysocki her 15s and 16s year where her leaping ability was just different compared to others around her. I remember a clip on social media with Wysocki jumping and touching a basketball rim like it was no big deal. The past year she has really asserted herself as a premier attacker where along with her leaping ability, she can hit with an IQ and is real violent with her arm swing. She has mostly played on the right side for Sky High out of the North Chicago suburbs and is the type of athlete who can score from anywhere.

Triangle Volleyball Club continues to produce high level prospects. Addie Canady is next in line who is a high level libero committed to Maryland. She has been a key piece to the success of Triangle out of North Carolina where she can command the backrow, controlling the first contact. Her athleticism in this position is what makes her elite with her range and anticipation. She can cover quite the ground whether it be in serve receive or defensively. She can also anticipate a chaotic second contact and bring a sense of calm to the court.

This Colorado Juniors group from the Class of 2025 has been special to watch since their 15s year. They will be finishing their careers heading to some of the top programs in the country. A six rotation outside hitter who has been essential to their success is Bridget Malone. She will be heading to North Carolina where she could be a key point scorer. She has a high contact point where she can go thumb up down the line or is a total eraser out of system where she can make something out of nothing. Her upside is exciting and will be heading to a program who is building plenty of momentum this 2024 season.

NC State is bringing in a real solid 2025 recruiting class. They have one of the top attackers out of Wisconsin coming to town in Rebecca Ring. Her swing is different, she has a fast arm, and it's a heavy ball making it really tough for the other side of the net to cleanly keep it in system. She has had success at the high school level and has been a big part of VC United out of Rockford, Illinois. What has been most impressive about her development is her backcourt game where she has turned into a key athlete in serve receive and a scorer from the backrow.

Jelinek has been part of a successful core group who has played for Nebraska One, qualifying open multiple times, and this past high school season she won a state title for Norris High School, dethroning Skutt Catholic who had won the previous nine state titles in their class. Jelinek is the true definition of a six rotation outside where she is so solid with her ball control and knows how to score points using a variety of shots.
Northern Iowa continues to pick up top players from instate year after year and Molly Shafer (and her twin sister in setter Kate Shafer) are no different. She has had quite a year where she has qualified for the state tournament in softball, basketball, track, and softball. This past summer, she was part of the Adrenaline 17 Ben championship squad where they took home the 17 National Division title at USAV in Vegas. She has length, athleticism, and is the type of athlete who makes something out of nothing. Northern Iowa is currently undefeated in the Missouri Valley Conference and will be a favorite for the MVC Tournament. The Shafer twins will be sure to continue this legacy of winning ways with local talent for the Panthers.
