Campbell Flynn Named 2024 Miss Volleyball

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In arguably the most talented Miss Volleyball finalist group in history, Mercy's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156295' first='Campbell' last='Flynn']</strong> emerged as the clear winner.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 6'2” setter was awarded with the honor on Friday, becoming the third Marlin to win the honor since 2019, joining Jess Mruzik and Julia Bishop.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flynn has been a key part of the Mercy program since stepping foot on the school as a freshman.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The four-year player has not only made a big splash with Mercy, but also nationally with her club program, Legacy, as well as with Team USA's youth program.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flynn led Mercy to the Division 1 state championship in 2023 and had the Marlins as the top-ranked team in D1 throughout most of 2024. The Marlins fell in the regional semifinal in a five-set classic with Northville on Tuesday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a freshman, Flynn was Third Team All-State in D1 and that was followed by being First Team All-State as a sophomore and as a junior. She is certain to be a First Team selection again as a senior.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flynn's play with Legacy and with Team USA made her one of the most sought-after prospects in the entire Class of 2025. She is going to be playing for the Nebraska program starting next fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flynn got the nod for the honor over Shelby's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156343' first='Navea' last='Gauthier']</strong>, who recently became the MHSAA's all-time kill leader. The outside hitter is heading to Ohio State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cass City's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156307' first='Shelby' last='Ignash']</strong> finished third in the voting.
