<p>Now that the dust has cleared with the completion of the Missouri state championships, we are ready to put a bow on the KC Metro [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] 15 for the 2024 high school season!</p>

<p><strong>1. St. Thomas Aquinas (34-6)</strong></p>

<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>2024 Kansas 5A State Champions. They redeemed a pool defeat at the hands of Topeka Seaman by knocking them off in the championship match with a commanding 25-9 third set. [player_tooltip player_id='153937' first='Alea' last='Goolsby'] finished her career with a 19-kill performance. </p>

<p><strong>2. Mill Valley (37-5)</strong></p>

<p>Back-to-back Class 6A State Champions. Mill Valley took down Blue Valley West in three sets to capture their state title. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='436201' first='Riley' last='Riggs'] continued to shine with 13 kills and 16 digs.</p>

<p><strong>3. Blue Valley West (37-5)</strong></p>

<p>Blue Valley was the runner-up in 6A. They defeated Olathe West in the semifinal after going perfect in pool play. </p>

<p><strong>4. Olathe West (34-6)</strong></p>

<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>Olathe West finishes in the 4th spot after spending a good chunk of the season in the top six. They would finish 3rd in 6A after defeating Manhattan in straight sets. </p>

<p><strong>5. St. James (32-7)</strong></p>

<p>St. James also had a 3rd place finish after losing to St. Thomas Aquinas in the semifinals. </p>

<p><strong>6. Liberty (29-7)</strong></p>

<p>Liberty was points away from playing in the Class 5 state championship after giving Lafayette all they could handle. They bounced back to win the 3rd place match. </p>

<p><strong>7. Blue Valley Southwest (33-7)</strong></p>

<p>Blue Valley Southwest had a 2024 season to remember and advanced to the state tournament. They went 1-2 in pool play. </p>

<p><strong>8. Blue Valley North (26-10)</strong></p>

<p>Like Southwest, Blue Valley North also went 1-2 in pool play at the state tournament. </p>

<p><strong>9. Maranatha Christian Academy (41-7)</strong></p>

<p>The Kansas 2A state champs are here! After suffering a defeat in pool play, they bounced back to win their last two matches in straight sets to capture the crown. [player_tooltip player_id='493495' first='Tate' last='Sher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='483901' first='Maggie' last='Brisk'] combined for 23 of the team's 32 kills. </p>

<p><strong>10. Platte County (22-13-1)</strong></p>

<p>Platte County has become a constant at the state tournament in Class 4 and this year with numerous new faces seeing ample playing time, they finished 4th. </p>

<p><strong>11. Lee's Summit West (21-11)</strong></p>

<p>West ran into Liberty in the state quarterfinals and saw their season end in four sets. </p>

<p><strong>12. Park Hill South (29-9)</strong></p>

<p>After a strong season, South had their season end to 6th ranked Liberty in the district title game. </p>

<p><strong>13. Belton (33-4-1)</strong></p>

<p>In a season to remember, Belton was upset in the district championship game. </p>

<p><strong>14. Bishop Miege (23-18)</strong></p>

<p>After a tough regular season, Miege went on to win their third consecutive title in Class 4A. </p>
